Why are our Yoruba brothers very bitter about Anioma having a state and relating with our kit and kin across the Niger River, the Ooni will travel to Brazil and Caribbean, Benin Republic and Togo and claim them as Yorubas but cannot allow allow Anioma people to have an identity as a sub-Igboid group like Owerri, Aba or Nsukka man with whom they share a lot of affinity with them.

Its like some tribes in Nigeria doesn't want Anioma to progress because identifying as Igbos will give Anioma the population and numbers and stronger voice to be forceful in pushing their desires for an equitable country 🤔
Now I know that subjugation of Anioma and Igbos in Nigeria is a deliberate policy which they are afraid is beginning to crumble

Yorubas don't even claim Itsekiri or the ones in Kogi that are nearby. It's those people that are attaching themselves to Yorubas. If you go to Togo and Ghana, you would meet tribes claiming they are Yorubas. The ga king below travelled all the way from Ghana to visit ooni to say they are Yoruba.

The only place Ooni traveled to was Brazil and the president there even called himself proud son of oduduwa.

The presidential palace in Barbados is called ilaro (named after ilaro town in Ogun state). It's the Brazilians and south American that worship Yoruba gods and often travel to Yorubaland, home of their ancestors.

In these case of Ika or Ikwerre vs ibos, those are the ones divided and a majority do not want to be associated with Ibo. Nothing concern Yorubas with that one. Please stick to the topic. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Its a priority for Ndị Igbo and Yoruba will not use them against Ndị Igbo again.

Okun never denied being Yoruba. Okun are always proud Yoruba. They speak the same dialect as Ekiti/Ondo axis. Infact, they always agitate to be reunited with their South west brother.

The other group in Kogi state that bear Yoruba name and agreed to have come from Ife are Igori people of the Igorimagogo local government. They speak a fusion of Yoruba and Ebira bear Yoruba names and share cultural similarities with the Yoruba. I didn't know about them until i served in Kogi state.

Ika person speaks Ika as a dialect. It's mixture of Igbo and Benin language, though the igbo language is predominant.

The problem Ika people have with Igbos is that the core Igbos dont regard Ika as part and parcel of their clans, even when it comes to political appointment, Igbos dont recognise an Ika position as Igbo slot.

Not true, appointments in Nigeria are not based on tribe but geopolitical zones and state. I have not seen any Igbo deny Ika man who identify as Igbo of their rights, they are even given preference for recognising their kinsmen across the River Niger

I am Ika man from Ekwuoma, an Igbo man to the core not a womanizer. I don't see anything Linking me with Benin. If there is any I believe my language would have been Benin despite the proximity. The only and only language similar to Ika is Igbo. Although few migrated from Benin which they met people already settled and accommodated them. That is not a enough reason link us with the Benin
