Sola Akinlade

Sola Akinlade, a Lagos native, is the co-founder of Paystack, a digital payment platform that revolutionized online payments in Africa. Together with Ezra Olubi, Akinlade built Paystack into what’s often referred to as the “Stripe of Africa,” which was acquired by Stripe in 2020. In recognition of his contributions, Akinlade has been honored as an Officer of the Order of the Niger.



In March 2023, Sola Akinlade acquired a 55% stake in a Danish second division club. He has ambitious plans to use the club as a pipeline for African players to enter European football.
