The Kogi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has described Senator Dino Melaye as a liability to the party.

PDP elders in the state led by Ibrahim Dansofo, urged the local executive committee in Ijumu to initiate immediate suspension proceedings against Melaye.

This, they said, would emphasize the need to restore the party’s integrity and focus on viable leadership.

On Saturday, Melaye said the acting national chairman of the PDP, Iliya Damagum, Samuel Anyanwu and Umar Bature have destroyed the former ruling party.

Melaye claimed that the three chieftains had irredeemably destroyed PDP.

Condemning his remark, the party elders said Melaye’s political ambitions have crumbled to the point where he can no longer secure a local councillor position.

The Dansofo-led elders characterized Melaye as a liability, suggesting that his continued association with the party serves only to negotiate personal gain with the ruling party rather than contribute positively to the PDP.

“Senator Melaye has become a burden to the party.

“His accusations against the current leadership are hypocritical, as he himself was granted a governorship ticket despite the party’s awareness of his inability to win even a primary election,” Dansofo said.

The Kogi PDP placed blame for the party’s current struggles squarely on Melaye’s shoulders, claiming that his nomination was a significant misstep that has led to their present predicament.

They further called on former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to reevaluate their support for Melaye, urging them to distance themselves from someone they described as a “bondage” and a “big-time liability” for the party.

They called on the Nigerian public to disregard Melaye’s remarks, labelling them as the desperate words of a man whose political relevance has long since faded.

“The Kogi PDP is determined to move forward, reclaim its strength and rebuild its reputation as a formidable political force in the state, the stakeholders ask Dino Melaye to account for billions he collected in the name of governorship election,” they added.

This is serious have said it earlier that DINO, ATIKU and SARAKI were not after the betterment of this country rather fighting for their own political ambitions

Nawaoh Dino was very childish in his remarks about his own party but for pdp to admit that they know that Dino lack the capacity to win a council seat yet gave him their party ticket ..is self indictment....until we begin to select men of integrity and of sound mind ....we will continue to suffer bad governance

Please which truth? What Dino said about the PDP leadership which one is falsehood there? How would a party submit her leadership to the whims and caprices of outsiders and expect to move forward. Damagun and his co-travellers are damaging the reputation of PDP. This is the first time I will see an opposition so cold that to even talk about about the prevailing situation in the country becomes difficult for them. SE.first time you will see a political party going to court to file a case against itself.
Please what is Dino's issue about that that those alatenujes so called elders in Kogi State ranting unnecessarily. Well, they are only tools to further the destruction of PDP and nothing more. Your said truth is bile filled and not on sincerity.

Which one should we now believe, when we say Peter Obi revived LP and make it known with the number of wins attained in the last general elections, you guys will say no but now you're buttressing LP has no structure but SDP with almost no win in the last general elections is the one that have structure.
