Hello Jena community!

I’m urgently searching for a Nigeria student to share a flat with in Jena or environs, starting September 1st, 2024, or if you know any vacant apartments please let me know. I’m a Master’s student specializing in Chemistry at the University of Jena, and I’ll be resuming my studies soon.

Here’s what I’m looking for:
* Move-in date: 01.09.2024
* Type: Apartment or WG (shared flat)
* Budget: Flexible, depending on the offer
A bit about me: I’m a tidy, responsible, and friendly person. I love meeting new people, but I’m also respectful of personal space and quiet time—especially when it comes to studying.

If you know of any available places or have any leads, please let me know! I’d greatly appreciate any help or suggestions.

Thank you! 😊

We are only seeing requests of accommodation around Germany. If its what i am thinking, lots of people here are getting visa without sharing. Please let us endeavor to share good news to encourage people and they can still keep hope alive.

I am here to give back to all i have benefitted on this platform. I cant imagine how much I would have paid travel agents to get to Germany.

Please all, feel to ask any questions. I will answer all I can as much as I know.

Thanks to the active members still burning the fire here

Most of us have shared our experience at the embassy or the consulate office. Personally, I have shared my experience on this platform three good times. One when I went for the interview 6th August 2024 , secondly when I received phone interview from the consulate office and the third when my visa was approved. Maybe you are not up to date on the happening on the forum....

DAAD takes just 3 weeks. Ask him/her to mail the embassy. I hope the person filled in the right address, because that's what they'll use to send the stamped passport via courier.
Bro, going 5 weeks now.. nothing o.

Hi nairaland,
I got my visa on the 29th of July after been chasing German visa for about 5 years now. I started by going to Gothe in 2019 September hoping to get my admission and appointment by 2020 then covid came and everything scattered. Since then I have been having appointment date issue as a cat B student. At a point after choosing appointment date in 2021 because I had to cancel my appointment because of the money in my block account in 2021 fintiba asked me to contact the embassy saying that I want to close my account to get back my block account. Later in 2022 I got an appointment at the embassy in September 2,2022 I did not know that I have booked an appointment with my new passport in 2021. They send AD I have an admission but I did not have enrollment letter and school was on summer break so I couldn’t get the administration officer to enroll me until the date of the interview passed. I couldn’t make it I cancelled my appointment at the embassy. 2023 my ielts was expired so I have to start afresh with writing exams submitting all my documents again and thought maybe I would get my appointment later that with one year waiting period because I applied for AD immediately in September 2022. 2023 appointment did not come, 2024 appointment did not come either April 30 2024 Nigeria embassy sent appointment date but I used another route Conkary, Guniea had my appointment in March 26 2024. Then the embassy took 4 months and I got my visa July 29 2024. I got to Deutschland Aug 6 2024. A great journey all I can say is I never gave up. So best of luck to everyone don’t worry one day will be the day.

Please, how easy is it to stay back in Germany after studies?
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by Ijeshalomo(m): 8:54pm On Aug 26, 2024
After completion of studies, you are given 18months post study visa to get a full time job offer. If you are in any of the STEM, you could have got an internship or work student which eventually turns you to full time as soon as you complete your studies. However, if one is not lucky enough to get internship before graduation, you have to hunt for jobs that will give you full employment. It should not be difficult as it may be. But one needs to connect with his people and colleagues in the system to get job either referal or any otheer means before the 18months expires.

However, there are lots of doors you can pursue as we all know that most people dont want to return back home until you have made it. You could opt for new degree or further whatever studies (tuition is free so make the best of it).

I run the permit for people but the Liberian own. It can be backdated but its costlier that way. They have no German Embassy so they go to Ghana too for appointments.

Please explain further regarding the extra semesters

Kennie28:
They may not agree to defer it like my school but in some cases they'll tell you to enroll and pay your semester fee and secure your spot then when you come extra semesters would be added for you

I can help you run Ghana residency permit to boycott this appointment phase but you must book before August 16th or after October, else you won't find a suitable date. If you're more serious, reach my mail.

Yes. Infact you can secure another admission as backup immediately you are in your final semester or while writing your thesis.
So many options are available. The first hurdle is getting your feet inside Germany legally and all other is easy

Your budget of 400EUR for berlin is very low. You would struggle to find WG (shared apartment) in berlin for that price. Another option is to search in neighboring cities that are close to Berlin, eg Potsdam, etc.
