Or am I the only one thinking these senator earn way more than that.
Cheapest Lamborghini cost N200m and someone has up to three in his garage, that is three years worth of salary.
G-wagon cost up to N100m.
Rolls Royce cost around N600m and u have 3, which is 1.8b.
Dey play .. salary na to chop ..

↪ You are very correct. These ppl do not know how to make assessment. How can they asses with only one thing, when they are unaware or other hundreds. Just like sometime in 2021, I fell in love with Sienna van cos of it's space. I just tol my colleague that I like Sienna Van and will like to buy it once I have enough cash for it. As if God had already planned it for me, the insurance company I made investment with paid me N5,080,000. I bought that car with part of that money. Clean one. Some of my colleagues were looking at me somehow as if I am doing some deal in the company. They were just judging me based on our salary and also based on how much they could do with the same salary.
They didn't know that I have good financial disciple and invest my money in different areas that keep bringing extra money to me.
Please use your head in these things for once abeg! You claim you received a payout from an insurance company for about Naira 5,080,000 which you then used in purchasing your dream van, right? If asked to provide proof, you would be able to hand in the documents showing these transactions and your history of yours, right? Guess what? Public servants are required to disclose — not spin tales — their financial income before even entering into office. Their accounts are meant to be audited and verified to ensure we are all aware of what they had, where they came from, and so on. undecided

2. People in Nigeria, and everywhere else, have a right to be suspicious of people's source of wealth. It is common sense given that there are a tremendous amount of thieves and fraudsters out there, particularly in Nigeria. Even your religious leaders are front and center when it comes to fraud, so yes, it is right to question it all. undecided

Dino is like every other corrupt politician in Nigeria. He got his hands on government money through corruption then invested most of them into bitcoin very early when bitcoin crashed and the price was below $10000-$15000.

90% of the wealth he enjoys today is due to bitcoin price rising crazily.

Subsequently he's been helping some other non techy politicians launder stolen money from Nigeria through crypto, thereby creating an endless stream of money for him to acquire these wealth toys and flaunt in public while claiming to own a ghost McDonald franchise

Nigeria is a huge crime scene. Only the treatment given by J Rawlings to the corrupt politicians in Ghana can set Nigeria back on track

Till then it's free for all
How I wish I can give your comment a thousand likes!👍
The highlighted part is my own line of thought as well.

do u think while I saw these documents, I was thinking of framing them as souvenir or praying hard the deal succeeds?

Ogaaa, most of these politicians get involved in side rackets that are outside the purview if their offices.
They don't just sit down and depend on their salaries, allowances and deals inside their offices.

If you can afford to live large in Abuja, have good cars and a lovely office, you would come across most of these politicians or thier fronts brokering deals.
Most times it's oli&gas deals or even contracts from several corners.

Dino had all these before saraki, please.

Dino naaaa fulltime local hustler

confirmed!

Just because you may be lazy, broke and not having good business ideas and capabilities does not mean that everyone is like you.

That we are all here in Nairaland does not mean that everyone is the same. There are ppl that join this forum when we have normal and intelligent ppl here. Not now that we have these chewing gum boys that think that everyone here is jobless.

I've worked in many good firms and made good investments. I was also into buying and selling of shares before the period of economic melt down that scattered share business.

I have other running businesses together with my wife's own. Still working in one of the good firms right now.

You heard ₦5m and it sounded alien to you.
That money came in as a side investment so it's not a big deal.
If not that this is a public forum, I would've shown you the detail of that business and even the vehicle documents.

Below is the payout order form. I can also show you the payment alerts from the insurance firms if you want.

Re: Can Someone Earning ₦21M Monthly Afford This Garage? by Fujiyama: 9:48pm On Aug 19, 2024
grin

Amusing yet very revealing thread.

This thread demonstrates the power of the herd. This thread makes it easy to understand why our mechanics remove engine thermostats without being able to explain just why they do it. They do it because...they were taught to do it by their bosses/teachers. And...they in turn will teach their apprentices the same thing...and the beat goes on...

And a simple (yet potentially deadly) error becomes transgenerational. undecided

Nigerians were force fed the MacDonalds franchise 'story' about Dino and they ran with it. But to where? Someone on this thread (who clearly knows how the system works in the US) asked the questions we should all be asking about this magical, almost mythical MacDonalds franchise - a franchise with no name, location etc. And...right on cue, all sorts of weird usernames started crawling out of the woodwork to regurgitate the same old nonsense. undecided Some things will never change.

The public's Right to Know is sacred...and this is why effective freedom of information legislation is so important. We have here on this thread almost 10 pages of speculation about the financial history of one of our lawmakers - men who are fed from the public purse and who wield significant powers on our behalf. And we cannot get accurate information on their net worth at the click of a button? undecided

We will keep finding out the hard way that there is no substitute for strong institutions. A country with weak, dead or broken institutions is little more than a failed lab experiment.

I'm just reading this your post again. Very funny.

Have you ever lived in Abuja?
Or hustled within Abuja?

Seee, all politicians. Or at least half of the politicians in Abuja are Registered contractors in those big government parastetals in Abuja.

They husle in there like their lives depend on it.
Ministery of Works, mabuchi
NNPC,
DHQ,
etc.

These politicians are contractors that have legalized curruption.

You see that Setraco that became one of the biggest construction companies in Nigeria,

It only became that big from 1999, when Anthony Anenih became the Minister or Works that same year and he became a lifetime major shareholder of the company.
Then they started winning jobs ahead of Julius berger and Arab Contractors.

The politicians have legalized curruption and the rich gets richer.

I have seen his name on SPA's for AA RANO business.

Don't mind these Nigerians oo, if you don't have a shop beside an open road they believe you don't have a business grin grin no politician is a saint but to think they are foolish enough to not have their own private investments is nothing but utter foolishness.

They don't know that the big hustles are done with biro&paper and moving your files from one office to another.

Almost all politicians are registered contractors in one government firm or another.

Oga I own three McDonalds and I can’t buy those cars at all. I am not trying to insult anyone but Nigerians—especially those living in Nigeria—do not have the slightest idea how hard it is to create a legitimate business that will enable someone to acquire that kind of wealth. It doesn’t add up. I am doing well but not to the point of having a garage like that. I have a friend who knows a friend with that kind of garage and he makes over $15 million a year.
Good morning sir, please I don't know how to go about this discussion with you. I will just go straight to the point sir. Please I need some financial assistance to the tune of approximately #100k to clear my outstanding school fees so as to be able to graduate sir. I'm willing to do whatever legal work you will want in exchange as I understand giving someone that kind of money for free isn't ideal. I could work as your housekeeper or salesperson or any job description you might have in mind. I can send you my payment advice to show as evidence if you want one. Thank you sir

Please sir, just wanted to add that if you aren't interested in my service. I could pay back instalmentally by paying #40000 every month end starting in September through to November making if #120000. My address is in Lagos and I'm open to making agreement that will ensure that I do not default. Thank you sir

It's high time we begin to use facts and figures to backup claims of our thieving politicians claiming otherwise. Being a serious investor doesn't make qualify him off he's doing. Dino had been living a questionable lifestyle even before he was pushed out of politics.
