It seems Lagos State government is recruiting igbo smokers to come and drive BRT. That's how BRT crushed an SUV driver at Chevron last week, but it didn't make the news here.

What makes you think I didn't read the post. Point it out.
Here

Nosa Okunbor said investigations at the scene revealed that the BRT bus headed inward Iyana Ipaja in an attempt to avoid crushing a commercial motorcyclist with passengers plying the BRT corridor illegally, collided with an oncoming BRT bus.

Kudos to the drivers. They should confiscate any bike on BRT corridor.

Many of the commenters did not read the full post, because if they did they would have seen the cause of the accident written in English language which I assume they know.
How many Nigerians can read or comprehend what they read?
All they know is attack attack , react react like nuclear weapon

We are in serious problem in Nigeria, Nigerians can't read, majority of the commenters didn't read or digest the article before rushing to comment. Are this the leaders of tomorrow. You will find the most stupid Nigerians on Nairaland. The article clearly states that *investigations at the scene revealed that the BRT bus headed inward Iyana Ipaja in an attempt to avoid crushing a commercial motorcyclist with passengers plying the BRT corridor illegally, collided with an oncoming BRT bus.*

All those commenting didn't read that both brt drivers were trying to not crush a commercial motorcycle that plied the road .... Always read well to digest the article not first to comment.

What led to the BRT driver dodging the motorcyclist? At least, the motorcyclist was reckless on the road. "Illegally plying" is already in the post. A potholes or a gallop is likely not what created the need for the motorcyclist to illegally ply the lane (corridor). Also, the BRT driver was reckless for not noticing the motorcyclist in time.

Some of these BRT drivers are reckless. They drive with the mentality that they are the government and nothing individuals can do to them. One almost brushed my car and i was like ogbeni, if your bus doesnt have eyes, what about you yourself?
Re: Several Passengers Injured As Two BRT Buses Collide In Lagos by UpaIweka: 2:00pm On Aug 28, 2024
Just look at this idiot ? So because BRT is involved in accident it mean something is wrong with it ? How many accident have brt buses been involved with compare to other busses across the country. You bring you foolishness n pettiness here again.

Racoon:
-A BRT bus driver hijacked, raped and killed a lady in the night along Lagos Island - Agege route

-The other day it was a BRT bus that was crushed by a train due to the overt recklessness of the driver @ PWD crossing @ Ikeja.

-Recently it is the accident involving the above overturned bus leading to minor injuries.

-Today, it is another set of BRT buses whose drivers stupidly choose to engage in dare-devil gambling with the lives of their passengers by engaging in another bout of reckless driving.

What is really wrong with BRT in Lagos today? These recurrent ugly incidences are worrisome.

As I created a new thread on the dangers of GMO,nlfpmod:

- banned me for about 1hr
- locked the thread

Why?
-Why are they invested so-much in the forceful acceptance of these GMOs?

- Seun , pls let us know if nairaland has been sold to strangers, so that we that have been here since 2008, can simply wave goodbye to this site.
I keep saying it: nairaland has been long infiltrated by ' strangers'. Probably sold too.
Think of it:Seun is alway on twitter;never even improved this site for years.

🤔

Laple0541:
What is happening to all these BRT lately? The conventional Molue buses seems to be safer than the so called BRT in recent time.

Hope it’s not the curses from the banned Okada riders that is affecting them!

Time bomb ticking...!

The recklessness among Nigerian drivers has increased astronomically and should be a serious cause for concern.

These accidents show that FRSC is doling out licenses without testing and confirming that drivers understand how to drive or rules of driving.

You obviously don't understand the structure of the BRT corridor, or how it works for that matter. I'm not even sure you live in Lagos because if you did, you will not be making these kinds of comments.

In short, you do not live in Lagos, I am sure of that. A Lagos resident will not say what you are saying because they understand the nature of the BRT corridor.

Commercial bikes are banned from certain areas of Lagos and the Lagos-Abeokuta express way is one of them. The BRT corridor was constructed as a dedicated road lane for BRT buses, and commercial buses, as well as private vehicles and bikes are banned from using the corridor which is just a two-lane road.

When bikes start flying upandan the road like houseflies, the BRT drivers have to be extra vigilant in order not to crush them. The bike rider obviously tried to cut into the front of the driver, and in order to avoid hitting him, the driver went off his lane and collided with the other bus coming from the opposite direction.

This is the third or 4th BRT accident in the last 2 months...!

The last ones had absolutely nothing to do with issues like lane disruptions.

There is clearly poor driving ethics among BRT drivers.

Maybe they need to look deeper into the recruitment process for these drivers.

You people are new to NL, most of those with negative comment on BRT especially thosenthat dis not read the article are paid obidient ipob member.

They have been paid to tarnish anything from the govt of Lagos, that is the perspective they have been paid to create so naive ones will join in blaming the governor n a lot of foolish Yorubas arw falling for the trick too.

One BrT get accident fools start reeling out dossier of accident on BRT. Ask them which transportation company as many busses as BRT on it team that does not experience accident n watch them shut their mouth

It is quite appalling, really. If they find it difficult reading a short, six-paragraph article, I then wonder how they were able to pass their exams since their attention span doesn't go beyond two sentences.

I understand and I agree, however, the person I was quoting was speculating with much confidence that the cause of this particular accident was "bad roads".

Brt buses drive recklessly like they are in a hurry to get somewhere even though they have a dedicated lane.

The driver can say he didn't see the illegally plying motorcycle early to avoid getting close to it unless the bike came into his lane suddenly or he wasn't watching his lane?

Most of them are not interested in reading the article in the first place. They have an agenda that they must pursue, no matter what the article says.

It happens all the time on this site.
