Auwal Dankode, an employee of Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO), found and returned $10,000 in an aircraft at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano. Dankode came across $10,000 (approximately ₦16m) while carrying out his cleaning duties, as a Cabin Cleaner, on the aircraft.

A security analyst and expert in counter-insurgency, Zagazola Makaman, also mentioned in a post on Wednesday on the X platform that Dankode, upon finding the money, immediately notified the airline company’s manager, commencing efforts to locate the rightful owner.

Dankode, hailing from Kode in Kano State, is well-known for his deep reverence for God and steadfast honesty, as mentioned by Zagazola.

Zagazola further stated that Dankode's altruistic gesture has emphasized the significance of integrity and responsibility in the workplace.

Moreover, as the search continues to ascertain the rightful owner of the misplaced money, Zagazola pointed out that Dankode's conduct stands as a compelling illustration of the beneficial effect that even minor acts of kindness can bring about.

Good heart in bad times. Truth is if I were in his shoe, I would not return the money. Imagine part of our stolen money finding its way to me and all I can think is to return it. No be 9ja again, after handshake and thank you, nothing for the poor boy. I fit dey pity my fellow poor man, but no be with the rich. The rich no send we poor men for 9ja.

Should he be compensated for doing whats right? I leave that to the owner to decide. Its not compulsory.

However, in a nation where morals and values have been eroded, these kind of people should be promoted.

I am a Yoruba guy and I have traveled to 17 States in Nigeria, and beloved, I tell you with utmost sincerity that, there’s no where or region or tribe or ethnicity where you can see or find a large percentile of Morally Upright, God-Fearing, Honest, Truthful & Compassionate people except from the Hausa People & Community.

If this money was found by a person from my ethnicity or from the ethnicity of those People where they usually kick their Parents in the Blokos to wake them up from sleep or to say good Morning; my brother, we wouldn’t be reading about this news today.

I am tired of some people's thought process. Thats the same thinking they take into government and start compensating militants and bandits for dropping arms.
