They should have done this since 1800 but its fine to do that now

Under a private operator, we can be sure of increased production over the next 12months as private firms tend to keep pushing their operational capacity to the extreme in a bid to secure bigger profits

Demands will be met and we may not experience fuel scarcity again.

Kyari thought this through and it sounded sane to him. It does to me too

Kudos
this is not really kyaris initiative - this was first proposed by Ibe Kachikwu in 2015/16. at the time NNPC unions shot it down. it remains to be seen what happens in this case. also the elephant in the room is not being addressed - kaduna refinery that is not producing anything while employing 100s of staff .

The same private sector they will sell it to is their accomplice. They will sell it very cheap and rebuy it from those thieves.

This is obviously a step in the right direction and it is long overdue too. I don't care who buys them, my own is let them function optimally and never have a reason to hold us to ransom by withholding supplies.

Anyway, importation should not stop yet until they are able to prove to us that the competition from the importation would not be necessary.

Was this not the same thing Atiku said he was going to do (Privatize)? and he was constantly misquoted and bashed by the APC.
Re: NNPCL To Hand Over Warri, Kaduna Refineries To Private Operators by BlackyOne: 1:09pm On Aug 30, 2024
Atiku wanted to do the same, but gullible Nigerians called him unprintable names, they even said he wants to sell it to his friends.
Tilumbu is selling everything to himself without payment, Tilumbu has fraudulently bought all NNPCL retail using Oando's OVH

People don't even have money to feed!

Tinubu is truly cooking something and I'm very sure he cannot survive what will happen to him after leaving government. He should corner whatever he can and enjoy the loot for the next 2+ years and the rest will be story. So his aim is just to take over Nigeria assets the way he did to Lagos state properties. Did this man think he will live forever. Did he think Nigerians are fools. All the assets they have privatised are in bad condition. Power holding company is degenerating on daily basis despite masses paying astronomical wages on it. It shall not be well with all of them.
See, Jonathan didn't handle the NEPA privitization well. The people they sold to, didn't have the technical and the financial capacity, that is why we are having problems. Privatization is better if they sell to people that have the technical and financial capacity to run them. This has been Atiku's idea. It is a brilliant idea if it is transparent and done well.

Tinubu succeeded in reducing the purchasing power of the average Nigerian in just a couple of we is in office(that was actually one of his campaign promises) so how can average Nigerian who has wished for long to buy into Nigerian Oil have the money even if a PPP setting at this point? undecided

What operators?

Who will regulate them?

Mele Kyari should be locked up; he is an unmitigated crook.

NNPC refineries should be sold to indigenous oil and gas companies in Nigeria with well-developed oil and gas platforms.

NNPCL should be scrapped the regulation, and JV should be managed in a department at the Ministry of Petroleum.

NNPC HQ in Abuja and Lagos should be sold and converted into hotels

Be careful about what you wish for. The same promises were made regarding electricity being transferred to some Private entities. After all these years have you noticed any improvement apart from higher bills? By the way who are these private people that can come up with the money to buy these refineries?

Kaduna refinery is almost useless to any potential buyer. Any investor who falls for it might end up committing investment suicide
It’s actually going through upgrade and repair. If not, won’t be attractive to sell or for concession in the first instance.

I understand what they are trying to do. Since cabals have seen that their attempts to frustrate dangote's refinery failed and that once dangote's refinery start selling petrol, their imported blended fuel from Malta will no longer be patronized, they are now trying to take over some government refineries so as to be able to compete with dangote.

Aso rock cabals are our problems

Re: NNPCL To Hand Over Warri, Kaduna Refineries To Private Operators by RhinoChest: 1:56pm On Aug 30, 2024
Step in the right direction.

The PortHarcourt refinery is being excluded because I’m guessing NNPCL would want ownership of it.

Problem now is if there will be available crude to keep them going.

FG should target 3 million barrels a day within the next 24 months.

2 million for export and 1 million for local refineries to sell locally and export.

Highly unrealistic but the quickest way to boost FG’s revenue.

Lol 😂😆, as you can see, it's actually well with them and their families.

On the other hand, it is not well with the f00lish masses who are very notorious for voting criminals into public offices.

Be like say Nigerians actually have a covenant with poverty. grin
