Same, just buried mine. 1984 was unique to my dad also, his National service years. Now I ponder on the importance of living!

It was never part of God's plan that we should die . See Gen. 2:15-16. Death came as a result of Man disobeying God, by rejecting God's right to rule over him and decide for him what was right and wrong. Gen. 2:17 is clear on this fact. That is the reason when man disobeyed God, God knew that there would be those of man's offspring who would be faithful to him and that was why in Gen. 3:15 the first prophecy in the scriptures was uttered, where God foretold of the fulfillment of a plan to remedy man's situation. That was why Jesus (Prophet Isa) who was the fulfillment of God's prophecy of this remedy promised a resurrection in John 6:44. So for now, we take comfort in knowing that death doesn't end it all and a time will come when we will see our lost loved ones and be united with them again, in the same way we saw similar cases of resurrection in the records of the scriptures. We live with this hope in mind. Otherwise, our lives are meaningless. Take heart bro. God hasn't forgotten u or your late, beloved Dad.
