Why do South Africans hate this Chidinma of a lady so much. They nor want the girl to drink water and put the cup down in peace. They chase her out of their competition and she girl did not mind, now she has come to join that of Nigeria, they are still hating her from afar, they just don't want her to win by all means.

Hypocrisy and bigotry run in igbos veins. Takes delight in absolute nonsense. Igbos are the most illogical beings on earth. I wonder whether Nigeria is the only country in Africa, Igbos keep dragging the country back down with thoughtless action

I really don't like all these "you must be from this place, deeply, authentically" if you want to do XYZ. Does it matter in some context? Yes. When the country itself is alright fraught with tribalism, why will people not be becoming susceptible to xenophobic dogwhistles?

Since it is a beauty pageantry, what other identification does she need apart from the fact she's of Nigerian origins? Does she need to know Nigerian political history from 1999 till date? Or know the specific food common to each state? Or know their slogans? Even I don't know it.

If she wins, she'll be representing Nigeria as a whole at the world, and it'll be for general reasons. Nobody is going to be asking her how rush hour traffic in Nigeria is like.

Just stop with your embarrassing projections. Obviously more Igbo ladies registered, and they registered early. So they get to choose their own state of origin.

Have you gone through the names of all the contestants from the previous pageantries for you to be so certain that people from other states do not represent an Igbo State? The Miss Kwara herself is from Edo State.


Have you also asked yourself why there is no one with an Hausa name in this competition? I don't remember seeing anyone with an Hausa name. You will also say that the pageantry is biased against them?

There is no one with an Hausa/Muslim full name is this pageantry, and it's probably due to cultural reasons. There is also no one representing Borno, Zamfara, Yobe, Sokoto, Jigawa... have you asked why that is so?

I just checked the voting pattern and my observations are:

1. It is opened to everybody

2. It cost 200 naira per vote.

It looks like South Africans are using the purchasing power of rands over naira to chase Chidimma's votes from Nigerians...
