What jet is defective? Seems you do not know about aircrafts or how they operate. They are not cars or bikes that breakdown or spoil in the general term. Once am aircraft does it's regular checks and maintainance, it can function perfectly for many decades. The only factor will be if their interiors, avionics, etc need upgrade or if they are economical to operate in light of more morden designs eg fuel consumption. Those are more related to commercial airlines moreso when they have to compete for ticket prices.
The Nigerian Bbj aircraft they said was faulty and old was delivered 2005 making it 19 years. Oga in the aviation industry, that is not an old aircraft. Not also, it is a presidential jet not flown daily unlike a commercial one that could do 10+ landings daily. So a 19 year old PJ aircraft is basically new.
Are you aware those air peace b777 used to fly Nigerians to UK are 23-25 years old? Plane carrying 400 passengers?.
Do you know South Africa, a richer country still uses the same Bbj737 presidential jet our own government sad was old and faulty. Infact that of SA was delivered 2001 making it 5 years older than our "faulty" one.
