2 Corinthians 9:7 explains how money for expenses in the church should be contributed. Was tithe mandatory to pay in that verse?

So, Non tithers are just part of the population who already do not obey God. So tithe or no tithe, people are already heading to hell.

Not paying tithe is not disobedience to God as a Christian.
Most of you are just ignorant, tithing was part of the laws and commandments God gave to the people of Israel to signify that they were in a Covenant with God!
You are so focused on tithe but non of you observe the festival of the unleavened bread that's held for seven days on the month of Abib, being the month that the Israelites left Egypt. You don't offer your first born male domestic animals to God. You don't observe the festival of Shelters . You don't observe the Passover festival and other numerous laws that God gave to the Israelites. All these laws are to be fully observed and non is to be left out, missing just one is regarded as Sin! But you leave the rest and only focus on the one that yields immediate benefits.

Tithing itself was for the tribe of Levi. God took the Levites as his own to replace the first born sons of all the tribes of Israel . They're the solely incharge of the temple of God, the Levites were composed of 3 clans, Gershon, Kohath and Merari clans, each of these clans have duties that they perform in the temple of God. And when God divided the land of Canaan among the tribes of Israel, the Levites didn't inherit any Land because they themselves already have been inherited by God, but they were given potions of lands in the Lands inherited by other tribes to rear their livestock and live in. So the payment for the works that they do in the temple that sustains them, these payments came in the fashion of tithe, daily sacrifices, sin sacrifices and worship sacrifices made by the tribes of Israel.

Then here is an exclusive Law on Tithe ( Deuteronomy chapter 14, verses 22-29)
22 “Set aside a tithe—a tenth of all that your fields produce each year. 23 Then go to the one place where the Lord your God has chosen to be worshiped; and there in his presence eat the tithes of your grain, wine, and olive oil, and the first-born of your cattle and sheep. Do this so that you may learn to honor the Lord your God always. 24 If the place of worship is too far from your home for you to carry there the tithe of the produce that the Lord has blessed you with, then do this: 25 Sell your produce and take the money with you to the one place of worship. 26 Spend it on whatever you want—beef, lamb, wine, beer—and there, in the presence of the Lord your God, you and your families are to eat and enjoy yourselves.

27 “Do not neglect the Levites who live in your towns; they have no property of their own. 28 At the end of every third year bring the tithe of all your crops and store it in your towns. 29 This food is for the Levites, since they own no property, and for the foreigners, orphans, and widows who live in your towns. They are to come and get all they need. Do this, and the Lord your God will bless you in everything you do."

If you 22-26 you will see that God actually told the Israelites to EAT their tithe in HIS presence, He told them to use their tithe money to buy whatever they like, be it food or wine or beer and enjoy them in His presence. So eating your own tithe is not even considered as a sin or disobedience.

A lot of people here have never picked up the bible and study it, it's only when a preacher says " open to the book of this and that that they see the contents of the bible that they're carrying. Otherwise you all would have understood the significance of Christ's death and resurrection and the new covenant it ushered in and how it supercedes and much more superior than the covenant of the old testament and it's laws.
The old laws were for the Jews who practice Judaism, and if you still want to keep it then you chosen to not recognise the salvation that Christ brought through his death and resurrection. And that would mean that you're not actually a Christian but a confused religious fellow.

Indeed it was for the Israelites, and even that verse is telling the Israelites to EAT their tithe or use the money to buy whatever they want and enjoy it in the presence of God.

I will need further clarification on this because I have stopped paying my tithes for about three years now. I also believe in tithing as an old testament law. Well, I may be wrong in some ways. Can anyone throw more light on this please. I am a born again Christian.

How was it financed in the beginning with Peter being the Christ Church foundation? Or have you not study your bible?

Secondly, did Christ taught you to stay one place or to move around to find the lost sheep? Many of you will tot in hell just because of accepting Christ because at the end, you don't even know whom you accepted. Remember the word, "Go away from him you workers of iniquity!". Who do you think that word will be said to? Gentiles? No! So called, "Christians".

They will tell him, "Lord, we've used your name to cast out demons, heal the sick and many miracles"... Who do you think can challenge Jesus in such manner and tell that to his face? Christians! Your greedy Pastors! Priests! Or do you think a sinner will challenge Jesus at such? ... But the funny is this, he will still tell them, "go away from me!"

Christ has his own doctrines. There is also Mosaic laws which has 603 Moses written Laws and 10 God's written Laws. Making 613 laws.

Jesus has 7 doctrines and 10 God's written Laws, making it 17laws.

Can you see the difference? Choose who you will serve today.

Christ is not sending us to Gentiles but to people like you and your pastors to repent for the time is near.

Check the bolded. This is the problem we have in this part of the world. It is all about one pastor or Reverend says and no more what the Bible says. People are so easily swayed by these so called men of God. By men of faith do you mean liars like Adeboye who claims to have drank tea with God or that he controlled the weather when he went to America? The same Adeboye who claimed his mantle woke up a dead person 11 days after? The same Adeboye that lost his son in his prime. Adeboye that claimed that soon other members in other churches will beg for food from redeemed members. I wonder how a sane person can take him serious.
Back to your question. What is tithe and who were supposed to pay tithe? Preachers in Nigeria will tell you it is 10% of your earnings. This is completely false. I will advise that you have study the whole of Malachi and not just that passage they use to hoodwink people.

Accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and believing His finished work on the cross, which is then evidenced by your regeneration, is all that is required for you to make heaven. It is as simple as that.

No other conditions whatsoever. So the claim that failure to pay tithe will condemn you to tell is a lie from the pit of hell itself. Let no man deceive you.

It is not your tithes that take you to heaven. It is salvation through Jesus Christ that takes you to heaven. If you do not tithe as an act of rebellion towards God, you can very well be on your way to Hell. If you give 20% to God, technically you are a Non-Tither because tithe is strictly 10%. So are you bound for Hell then?
