As sad as this whole matter is, it is also a teachable moment.

If you have a son or sons, this is the time to call them and give them the facts of this case. Let your son or ward know this kind of behaviour could end his life before it even begins.

Young people (both male and female) generally don't fully understand that actions and choices do have consequences. (Hell, even adults with decades of life experience sometimes fall short ).
