All these states are to too large so just cut them into two or three please!

They are all too big!

The whole South East is smaller than Zamfara in land Area!

Abia: 6,320 km²
Anambra: 4,844 km²
Ebonyi: 5,670 km²
Enugu: 7,161 km²
Imo: 5,530 km²
Total: 29,525 km²

Zamfara = 39,762 km²

South East + Lagos + Ekiti + 539 km²= Zamfara!

29,525 km² + 3,345km² + 6,353km² + 539 km² = 39,762 km²
meaning?

we should leave the bandit alone or what?

Texas is a state in US but is bigger than Nigeria and Bandits cant operate freely as though in Zamfara

This doesn’t make any iota of sense. The troops were going on a mission in an area where banditry or terrorism is rife, and the probability of ambush is relatively high, no Close Air Support (CAS) from the Nigerian Airforce and the troops had to abandon their Armoured Personnel Carrier & turned back to their base for reinforcement.
Just look at yourself, thinking real life and movies are the same?
They give you all sort of action and bravery that you will think thats the way it usually happens.

Does that not show that the leadership of the Nigerian Army & Airforce need to be overhauled?

Even if they lack the wherewithal, do they not watch movies? Do they not see how it is done in the developed Countries?

I mean even if their Armoured Personnel Carrier was stuck in the mud or marshy area, would the need to abandon the APC have arisen if there were gunships (e.g the numerous Russian M.I 35 Helicopters in the Airforce) hovering in the sky while they simply call for a tow truck & reinforcements?

Is there no synergy between the Army and the Airforce? Why then is Nigeria wasting tons of money buying equipments for these ragtag Military units when the citizenry are hungry?

Both the Politicians and the Military leadership are simply stupid & brain-dead.

They should go and source for more international loans to replace these Military Equipments that are being destroyed by the Bandits on Weekly basis since they are even more foolish than the Bandits.

The people from that part of the country will keep quiet and pretend as though all is well in their region.. but when it gets to protests against PBAT, they'll become active, take to the streets in their numbers and be flying Russian flags about.

Imagine Russian President Putin offering help to Nigeria, the number of Northerners that will fall including their politicians will shock the entire world. They'll be smoked out and killed like rats.
Whose duty it is to provide security for the country?

I know you are a small minded, irredeemable tribalist.

The three tiers of Government (Local, State and Federal) are required by law to provide security in the country.

Where Local and State Governments fail in their duty to provide Security, then the highest which is Federal can step in and can even declare State of Emergency in troubled States or regions, removing and replacing the incompetent Governors with more competent Administrators (usually serving senior Military or Police Officers).

Who is the chief security officer of Nigeria? Who is in charge of all the security apparatus, the police, Navy and Army in Nigeria?

The local government?

The military made a tactical retreat and let them have a bugged APC. that's the only way the military can pin point their location
Re: How Turji’s Gang Accessed Military Vehicle In Zamfara Forest by alezzy13: 6:22pm On Sep 02, 2024
The Nigerian military was alerted by a distress call about a reconciliatory meeting between the Baleri banditry gang and some Zamfara locals in the Zurmi axis.

“The meeting was to resolve the differences between the locals and the bandits, similar to the same truce working in the Shinkafi area where there is relative peaceful coexistence
Na wa o. Am I the only one who saw this? Which supports the claim that these guys are not hidden but are well known. Why the security agencies have been unable to flush out remains a mystery

We are doomed without state policing. The governors should have police under their control that way it is easier to hold a governor accountable.

Without state policing, insecurities will continue.

see how childish you are talking, what is the work of the president. Do you expect the civilians to go and arrest the bandits or how? These bandits recorded a video for almost an hour yet they federal government cannot locate them, but someone that called for protest in TikTok was arrested within 12 hours by the same tinubu government.
Re: How Turji’s Gang Accessed Military Vehicle In Zamfara Forest by Sunday2021: 8:11pm On Sep 02, 2024
This story is the most stupid story I ever had. In an area where bandits are operating soldiers will leave their two vehicles and ammunition without some soldiers guiding the stocked vehicles? This is an overpowered seizure. Every soldier know that.

Airdrop.

They didn't retreat with ammo. They left it in the vehicle...its okay

military eh, seems they are clueless. When i saw the videos, these guys are more than 100s in different batches inspecting the so called break down APCs. They know their locations but to strike them is very difficult. Something is not right. If they are smart, they would have put trackers and sensors, even a sensory time bombs, monitoring drones, and so on, on those abandoned vehicles, knowing well that they will come to that place, then use aerial fighter jets to finish them off. Na wa oo. These people are not really ready to combat these ragtag groups.
I thought of this as well. The APC is like a bait that can be used to lure the bandits, track their movement and eventually send them to hell using drones and airstrikes. This could have saved us a lot interms of human casualty and personnel loss. At this point, I believe we are not ready to fight these bastards. Some people somewhere are actually benefitting from all these issue of insecurity.

Saner mess Abeg!

I am talking about cutting the states in to smaller fractions so that the NPF could operate better! How can Zamfara be that big?

Imo produces more doctors but does that makes Imo the healthiest state in Nigeria?

It is useless bragging with such data!
