FG Denies Asking NNPCL To Sell Fuel At ₦1000 Per Litre by adenigga(op): 10:48am On Sep 03, 2024
The Federal government has debunked the reports that the Ministry of Petroleum has ordered NNPCL to sell fuel at N1000, above the approved pump price.

A report that went viral in the media claimed that the Minister of State for Petroleum, Heineken Lokpobiri, asked NNPC to select fuel at N1000.

In a swift response, however, the federal government, in a statement on Tuesday, signed by Nnemaka Okafor, the Special Adviser on Media and Communications to the Minister of Petroleum Resources, made available to newsmen, refuted the report, noting that it was concocted and ill-conceived to sow discord and confusion in the oil industry.

According to Nnemaka, the federal government never interfered with petroleum pricing with NNPCL, let alone give directives for price increments.

She said, “The Federal Government is compelled to address the outright falsehoods currently being circulated on social media, which claim that the Honourable Minister for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, has directed the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) to inflate petroleum prices above the approved pump price.”

“We categorically condemn these claims as baseless, malicious, and a deliberate attempt to incite public discontent.”

“We challenge anyone in possession of any evidence, be it written documents, audio, or video recordings-that supports these fabrications to make it public.”

Govt of deceit and propaganda.
After all the denials, they will still later enforce N1000 per litre.

Is there really any hope of fuel price being sustained at below ₦1000 per litre, when some Govt officials reason that lower fuel price will further encourage smuggling to neighbouring countries. huh

If the Federal Government is denying anything e.g purchase of a yatch, subsidy payments, new aircraft purchase, intent to invade Niger, anything at all…

Then it’s Actually True

No need to deny we already know the reason.

It's meaningless trying to pad with know already.

Anything FG denies is always the truth...

Buhari with all his cow rearing skills was far better than this useless accountant managing the affairs of this country right now.

God really has a way of humbling very proud and greedy individuals. I made this, I made that and I even even made a whole state should have just stuck to his self appraisal and not coming on to the federal level to embarass himself so bad like this...

We Nigerians are our problems. Tinubu is a bad president and the people around the corridor of power are the worst. Even if Tinubu want to sell petrol today for 15k, some Nigerians will still defend him so far they are gaining from the system. This country can never be better because we are all evil. We don't consider others so far wr are benefitting from a task.

The NLC and TUC are just being mischievous.

They are aware that the news about the N1000 fuel price was false yet they decided to run with it to score cheap political points
