Five Lies Told Against Igbos Since The 60's, That Are Still Being Told Today by gidgiddy(op):
These are five Lies the Lagos/Ibadan expressway media and their Northern cohorts have been telling gainst Igbos since the 60's, which they still tell to this day.

That Nzeogwus was an Igbo coup

The only way to call Nzeogwu's coup an Igbo coup is if Murtala Mohammeds coup was a "Hausa coup", Dimkas coup a "middle belt coup", Buhari's coup a "Fulani coup", Babangida's coup a "Gwari coup" and Abacha's coup a "Kanuri coup". When people only remember to give ethnic tag to coup when it comes to Igbos, then you know something fishy is going on. They will later turn around and even tell you when it suits them, that Nzeogwu is not an Igbo man. Nigeria even rewarded notorious coup plotters like Buhari with Presidency, Murtala Mohammed put on the N20 note, and Babangida with GCFR

That Ironsi abolished Regionalism and introduced unitary rule with Decree 34

Of course they know you will never Google Decree 34 to find out it was a civil service Decree. What Ironsi introduced was military rule. He neither abolished the 4 Region's Nigeria had at the time, nor denied them resource control. It was Gowon that came after Ironsi, used Decree 14 to abolish all 4 Region's, created 12 states to replace them, and introduced full blown unity rule with Decree 15 which abolished resource control

That Ojukwu started the war

Far from it, Ojukwu did everything he could to prevent war including risking his own life to go to Aburi, Ghana, where the government of Ghana and Nigeria could have killed him, just to sign a peace agreement with Gowon, to keep Nigeria one and prevent war. Unfortunately, Gowon and his Northern cohorts broke the agreement and war followed. If anyone caused the war, it was Gowon

That Zik prevented secession clause from entering the constitution

There was Awolowo, there was ZIk, there was Ahmadu Bello, Aminu Kano, Enahoro etc. But they want you to believe that Zik alone arm-twisted all these heavy weights, to decide what should, or should not be in the constitution? Is that really practical? One man decided what will be in the constitution of Nigeria while the British were in control? Get real

That Igbos are the problem of Nigeria

Those saying this are the same people who have been ruling Nigeria for the last 60 years, but they still blame Igbos for how Nigeria is 😆 🤣 😂 😹 😆 🤣 😂 😹 😆

You are a revisionist. Bunch of lies you are telling your likes.
Your Brother abrogated Regional system and replaced it with Unitary system by the promulgation of Decree 34 (see attached).
Coup of January 1966 was led by Ifejuana, Nzeogwu and co. No high profile personality was killed of the Igbos extraction. Azikwe went on leave, Okpara narrowly escaped, lol. A pure Igbo Coup.
The pre-independence debate on secession is well documented. Azikwe vehemently opposed inclusion of secession clause in the 1960 Constitution.
It's topic like this that won't allow old wounds to heal. So long you people keep bringing it up, we will keep bursting your lies

If he had already abolished the Regions, how comes Ojukwu, Ejoor, Katsina and Adebayo were still administrators of their Regions more than ten months and his death and one year after the decree was promulgated?!?

Why was the Decree 15 necessary if Ironsi had already abolished the Regions?!

Hmn even if nzeogwu coup is not an igbo agenda your actions make it looked like, because immediately after the coup your people living in the north started to make it a tribal war they mockingly displayed the photos of the slayed sardauna on the one hand and nzeogwu on the other with the caption my father killed your father, this angered the notherners and aggravated the situation but most northern leaders tried to calm the people saying that ironsi is not part of the coup but the igbos arrogantly continue to mock the notherners calling them ewu one igbo man even made a song in which he called northerners as goats, worst of all ironsi introduced a unitary system of government where he abolished regional resources control, and the question of regionalism and secession will be treated as treason, most nothern nationalists see this as a treat to nothern nigerian culture, history, heritage and uniqueness and the igbos in the continued to mock the notherners which resulted in the pogroms against igbos where most of them payed for their arrogance with their lives, and the nothern elements in the army staged another coup where ironsi also pay his foolishness with his life. After this most nothern soldiers that staged the coup were already alienated with the idea of one nigeria and choose to divide the country once and for all, but Gowon instigated by Anglo-Americans toppled them and committed to preserve one nigeria and created 12 states. Suddenly the igbos who are the great champions of one nigeria since pre independent times now under the leadership of a man with questionable character called ojukwu declared the secession of the defunct Eastern nigeria as Biafra which started the civil war where 3 million igbos died.
You igbos should stop trying to make us guilty about what we are not responsible, you started all the problems of nigeria because of your high and uncontrolled ego and lack of respect for your hosts. My advice to you is to you people at least try to learn humility.

Talk about dishonesty and a certain group of people come to mind. For 8 years they lied to the whole nation that Buhari was fixing the country, while he was destroying the country. They didn't just lie for 4 years and retract, they lied for another 4 years, a total 8 years of destruction of a country they claim to love. Just one year after he left office and they have automatically switched tongues and betrayed the man they told Nigerians was doing a good job.

The same people are now telling Nigerians again that Buhari's successor is fixing the country. The same thing they told Nigerians the previous 8 years. All these while most Nigerians are experiencing the worst hardship ever in modern day history of the country.

Talk about greed and guile and a certain politician (who was a big part of a heroin trafficking group) and his supporters come to mind.

This politician is on a mission of state capture and he is trying to distract everyone with tribal bigotry unleashed through his supporters online and offline. Is this not the perfect definition of greed and guile?

He and his predecessor have inflicted the highest level of poverty on Nigerians in history yet some people who have never ruled the country for decades are somehow the problem?

Talk to Nigerians about dishonesty, greed and guile

If he had already abolished the Regions, how comes Ojukwu, Ejoor, Katsina and Adebayo) were still administrators of their Regions more than ten months and his death and one year after the decree was promulgated?!?

Why was the Decree 15 necessary if Ironsi had already abolished the Regions?!

A lie told a thousand times is still a lie, but it changes the perception - Jose Mourinho

Keep on lying
You are half educated. Or maybe you are half clever.
What is Regional Government? The names you mentioned (Ojukwu, Ejoor, Katstina and Adebayo) were Administrators appointed by Ironsi and reporting to him in a Unitary system, the way the Governors report to Head of State. The Regional system of government was dead under Ironsi
What Gowon did was to further build on what Ironsi had began.
Anyway, Ironsi was going round trying to pacify Nigerians who had opposed his decisions when he was assassinated in Ibadan.

Know your history
