Lifestone:Lol, bringing the usual 3rd party comments of the Lagos Ibadan expressway media. If there was 4 Region's when Ironsi came in, and still 4 Region's when Gowon came in, which Region's did Ironsi abolish? You guys should start using your brains Google Decree 14 and read how Gowon abolished the 4 Region's Nigeria had, and created 12 states |

tishbite42:Lmao....😁😆😅🤣 Come out.I am here to destroy Ibo supremacist lies and propaganda. I so enjoy doing this..... And with facts and figures. Last night when I saw this pathetic thread because someone mentioned my moniker. I was extremely tired. Gidgiddy who is the OP is my regular customer on these boards where I bust his Ibo supremacist lies on a regular basis. You may like to come along and be educated because it was an Ibo woman as minister of education that was among those that abrogated the teaching of history in secondary schools in Nigeria so I don’t blame your ignorance. |

1. Lie number 1: That the January 15th 1966 coup was not an Ibo coup. The January 15th 1966 coup was a coup carried out by the Military wing of the Ibo nation. It was a further propagation of Ibo supremacy agenda which Nnamdi Azikiwe had failed to achieve through political means. To understand the January 1966 coup properly and in perspective, you need to go back to speeches made by prominent Ibo sons in the 1940s,50s and early 60s propagating the Ibo as a superior race in Africa. In fact in 1945 Charles Dadi Onyeama laid claim at an Ibo union address that the,"DOMINATION OF NIGERIA AND AFRICA, BY THE IBOS IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME." Following closely in 1949 at Aba, Nnamdi Azikiwe also made a tribal and inciting speech where he proclaimed that, "GOD HAD SPECIALLY CREATED AND CHOSEN THE IBO TO DOMINATE AND RULE NIGERIA AND AFRICA." This tribal and supremacy Ibo agenda was drummed into all Ibos that they were born to lead other tribes in Nigeria. However by 1960 at independence, the Ibo found themselves with the short end of the stick. Nnamdi Azikiwe was a toothless ceremonial President ,while the executive and political power was domiciled in the hands of the Prime Minister Tafawa Balewa, who was an acolyte of the Sardauna of Sokoto and Northern Premier Ahmadu Bello. This made the Ibo become disgruntled that their born to rule agenda was being defeated and as such the turned to their military arm in the Nigeria Army in order to wrestle power from the North. It is pertinent to note that in order to carry out this political and tribal coup they needed an excuse that would seem altruistic and not selfish so they needed a reason and an agenda. The agenda they chose was corruption and the freedom of Obafemi Awolowo who was incarcerated in Calabar prison by the Balewa government. The main protagonists of the coup were Ibo but they decided to include a other nominal members such as the misled and decieved Major Ademoyega. Here are the names of the leaders of the January 15th 1966 coup in Nigeria. 1. Major Chukwuma Nzeogwu. -Ibo 2. Major Emmanuel Ifeajuna-Ibo. 3. Major Chris Anuforo. -Ibo. 4. Major Humphrey Chukwuka. -Ibo. 5. Major Timothy Onwategwu. -Ibo. 6. Major Donatus Okafor.-Ibo. 7. Major Adewale Ademoyega. -Yoruba. You may decide to be the judge of the composition of the leaders of this coup and tell me if the domination of Ibo does not make this an Ibo coup. Proceeding further you see that the Ibo in their usual cunning and crafty way slaughtered and murdered political and military leaders of ALL other tribes while cunningly protecting and saving leaders from their side. This was to be expected since Major Ifeajuna was a relative and kinsman of Nnamdi Azikiwe and was only carrying out the Ibo supremacist agenda. Names of the victims of the coup: 1. Sir Tafawa Balewa.-Hausa. 2. Samuel Akintola-Yoruba. 3. Sir Ahmadu Bello. -Fulani. 4. Festus Okoti-Eboh.-Itsekiri. 5. Brigadier Samuel Ademulegun-Yoruba. 6. Brigadier Zakariya Maimalari-Kanuri. 7. Colonel Kur-Kanuri. 8. Colonel Abogo Largema-Plateau. 9. Colonel James Pam.-Become. 10. Colonel Ralph Shodeinde-Yoruba. 11. Sergeant Daramola Oyegoke. Yoruba. This was a cold blooded murder as this Sergeant was decieved by Nzeogwu that they were going on a routine exercise but when the attack on the Sardauna's house was about to begin and the Sergeant realised this was a coup he immediately refused to take part and was shot dead by Nzeogwu for refusing to obey orders. 12. Constable Yohanna Garkawa. 13. Constable Akpan Anduka. 14. Constable Hagai Lai. 15. Phillip Lawande. 16. Corporal Musa Nimzo. 17. Mr Ahmed Ben Musa. 18. Mrs Hafsatu Bello. 19. Mrs Lateefat Ademulegun. 20. Zarumi Sardauna. 21. Ahmed Pategi. 22. Lt Col Arthur Unegbe-Ibo. You may like to be the judge of the names of the people killed if it represents a geographical spread of the country and take note that the only Ibo man killed Lt Colonel Arthur Unegbe was the quater master general of the Nigeria Army. When you check what the duty of the quarter master general is then you will understand why he was killed. Gidgiddy, you are needed here. |

No matter how much later generations of Igbo may revise history, the truth remains unchanged. Nzeogwu, an Igbo man, led a coup that resulted in the deaths of Sardauna, Tafawa Balewa, Akintola, and others, including the unborn child of Tafawa Balewa. He spared only fellow Igbo. Any consequences from this grave act are theirs alone to bear. |

Lie number2: That General Aguiyi-Ironsi did not abolish regionalism and did not introduce unitary rule. What was the decree 34 of Nigeria in 1966? The unification decree of May 1966 promulgated by Ironsi, leading to the abolition of regional system of government – Historically speaking, the West and North have always believed in the regional system of government as the best form of government for a multiethnic like Nigeria, however this was taken away by Ironsi, ... The less said about this lie,the better. Those who are able may like to read the story of Decree 34 of 1966 in the link below. The decree completely unified and automatically abolished the autonomy of the regions. The regions became centralised under a unified system headed by a Supreme Commander Head of State. All regional governments became his appointees whom he could hire and fire at his whims. I don't even understand how any rational being with a modicum of English comprehension could even attempt to debate this but then knowing the OP Gidgiddy and his mischief, nothing is beyond him in his agenda to prove Ibo supremacy and shift blame to others. Below is the link to Decree number 34 of 1966 you may like to download the PDF and read the details. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://archive.gazettes.africa/archive/ng/1966/ng-government-gazette-supplement-dated-1966-05-24-no-51-part-a.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwi1w87BkauIAxXh_rsIHT5EB4wQFnoECAkQAQ&usg=AOvVaw3mLCvV0VUpg6JW1r5PHN81 |

Lifestone:Wow Fully educated man 🤣😂🤣😂 So, Ojukwu was able to defend the Biafrans against a man whom he reported to?! Can you see how foolish you sound?! So a governor can now mobilize the military assets in a state to fight others now? Is that what you are saying? Gowon met four Regions and divided them into twelve states. That's a fact. Yoruba propaganda can't change that. You can bring it on. |

Lie number 3: That Odumegwu Ojukwu did not start the Nigeria/Biafra war. The greatest lie and propaganda that the Ibo pushed about the Nigeria civil war was that General Yakubu Gowon did not keep to the terms of the Aburi accord. Nothing can be further from the truth. Gowon at great personal risk went out of his way to try to to pander to all Ojukwu's demands to avoid a war but Ojukwu kept on changing and making varied and greedy demands thinking Gowon would not commit his troops. You may like to visit the link below to read the Aburi accord in its entirety but here basically is a summary. Lie number 4:That Nnamdi Azikiwe did not oppose the insertion of secession in the constitution. As usual the OP who is a supporter of the terrorist organisation IPOB is trying to be clever by half. Gidgiddy knows these facts are on the Internet. I even posted a thread about this issue on this forum. You may like to read up on Nnamdi Azikiwe's 1953 speech opposing inclusion of a secession clause in the constitution at this link. https://www.nairaland.com/8150566/nnamdi-azikiwes-1953-speech-opposing Nnamdi Azikiwe who was a closet Ibo Supremacist who always masquraded this with his false Pan Africanism. In 1953 Azikiwe was totally opposed to Secession because he thought his political party NCNC was in pole position to win the forth coming election and as such propagate Ibo supremacy agenda. This was the main reason why Azikiwe opposed a secession clause in the constitution and never for love of a united Nigeria. |

Lie number 5: That Ibos are the problem of Nigeria. There is no tribe with the propensity to initiate an action and not expect a reaction like the Ibo. Actions attract reactions. You as a people can not continually stoke actions and not expect a reaction. In 1966 on the 15th of Jauary the Military arm of the Ibo instigated a coup and murdered in cold blood the entire political and military leadership of all other tribes in Nigeria while cunningly protecting, maintaining and saving their own military and political leadership and not expect a reaction. The Ibo have been known to be welcomed to a territory like Lagos or Portharcourt and turn round after settlement to claim these territories are NO MAN LANDS! This is an attitude no other tribe can try in Enugu,Onitsha or Aba without grave repercussions. Yet the Ibo do this on a regular basis trying to claim people's home town, and ancestral lands are NO MAN LANDS! They stoke these embers of fire and yet expect not to recieve a burning reaction. The funniest thing is that after instigating this reaction the Ibo will quickly turn round to claim and play victim trying to shift the blame on to other tribes. @ Gidgiddy. @ mightyhaze. @ IFECHIGCON @ tishbite42 |

confusedlady:This long essay was not necessary, there is nothing new here people don't already know. I could write the same long essay about Murtala Mohammeds coup, Babangida's coup, Buhari's coup and Abacha's coup. In coups, the ring leaders are usually from the same part of the country , nothing new, even if casualty rate may differ What I said if if anyone calls it an Igbo coup, the Murtala Mohammeds coup must be called an "Hausa coup", Babangida's coup a Gwari coup, Buhari's coup a Fulani coup and Abacha's coup a Kanuri coup Since Murtala Mohammed, who led a "Hausa coup", was put on the N20 note, had Airports and buildings named after him, Nigeria has to consider putting Nzeogwu on the next currency to be introduced, and an Airport named after Ifeajuna Since Babangida, who led a "Gwari coup", was made GCFR, it is only fitting if Anuforo and Onwuatuegwu should be given national honours Since Buhari, who led a Fulani coup, was elected civilian President, Chukwuka should be considered qualified to be President 😆 They only remember that coup should have ethnic tag if they see Igbo name They only remember that coup is bad if they see Igbo name They only remember there is insecurity and criminality in Nigeria if they see Igbo name Jokers everywhere |

gidgiddy:This your lame argument can only be bought by people like you. The Regional System was dead with Ironsi, Unitary System was already in place. The 4 Regions had become like States by Decree 34 of Ironsi who appointed the administrators for the four Regions and they all reports to him. Gowon came and increase it to 12 States. But the architect was Ironsi. |

gidgiddy:You are a shameless liar and a history revisionist. Your propensity to twist history has no limit. Everyday you come here to open pathetic threads dripping with propaganda and lies while pushing your Ibo supremacist agenda while also playing the victim. Did Babangida coup or Abacha coups slaughter the political and military leaders of other tribes while protecting and saving theirs? Only the Ibo can execute a tribal one sided coup like the coup of January 15th 1966,kill all the political and military leaders of other tribes while protecting all of their political and military leaders while playing the victim at the same time. Bear in mind that the Ibo mutineers also killed innocent by standers such as wives, children, drivers and personal secretaries. |

In this your murderous one sided coup wives, children, drivers and personal assistants were fair game and yet you come here to play a victim.
