I agree with you that the society glamorizes wealth irrespective of how it gotten; be it through ill means or legal means.

However, I won't blame it solely on the entertainment industry and bad parenting. In fact what may be termed bad parenting may actually not been bad parenting per se but parents being handicapped by the sad economic situation they found themselves.

Of recent I just sat down and was thinking of how hard it is for an average parent to even control their kids/disuading them from engaging in societal vices like Yahoo Yahoo. For example, a man who is a civil servant, whose wife is a petty trader and has a 16 year old son who just finished secondary school will find it extremely hard to rein his son in should the son decide to engage in yahoo Yahoo.

Before the man pays house rent, feeds his family, and pay the rest of his bills....etc; will he really be able to cater for the needs of the teenage son on his meagre salary in this hard times?

Sometimes If u go to malls, restaurants, etc u will discover that it is even all those small small boys engaging in these societal vices that are keeping the business owner in business. We are really in soup with the way things are going, its not just parents that shape/form their kids but what is also happening in the general economy.

I saw two men slugging it out on a fuel queue this morning. Man A was not on the fuel queue but was on fast lane; He saw the fuel queue moved but one vehicle without driver in it has left a space he could utilize to quickly join the queue.

Man B who was on the queue originally was pissed the owner of the empty vehicle has allowed for Man A to maneuver, so in order to prevent Man A from joining he quickly used his vehicle to block the little space remaining.

Man A was now saying " Shey nkan te'n shey yi make sense? , Ekiti kan naa de ni wa o" Meaning: What you are doing now, does it make sense ? And we are both from Ekiti o. (He noticed the man's dialect is ekiti with the way he was talking)

The man no hear anything o. He just dey vex say shey na Ekiti matter be this abi ? He has been on queue since 5am and u are here telling him to allow you join queue because u are supposedly from Ekiti like him

The whole thing was funny and sad at the same time.

Yahoo is the reason we have so many unexplainable crimes, kidnapping, killing all for stupid ritual purposes
It's obvious they are not seeing oyinbo to scam again, they are resorting to killing with the hope one useless spirit that doesn't know what to do with money will give them

Ritualistic killing is Nigerian culture, and has been before Yahoo sef... It's even difficult to say whether there's more ritualistic killing these days than it was in times past without needed data, fit be say e even dey less, but the reach of social media makes it look like it's a lot more than actually is.

People are really argue on the queues.

Unfortunately, the soldiers and LASTMA officials who are supposed to be coordinating things and maintaining things go in orderly manner are working in connivance with touts who manned the filling station gates. They collect money from people who want to enter without being on the original queue. The only saving grace is that no matter how u dey vex reach as civilian, u can't fight a soldier on uniform

The whole thing is causing traffic in different filling stations by the road around VI and Ikoyi axis.
