Any Help? Phone Showing "This Device Belongs To Your Organization" by BadInflunece(op): 3:11pm On Sep 05, 2024
Hello Techies...

Please I bought a used Samsung A54. I don't have any issues with the device. Although I observed most of the samsung app were missing. I probed further and realised the phone recognises me as a guest.

They said the IT admin has access to the phone and can delete or install an app at will.

I checked the device policy, an app I can't uninstall on the phone. It's been like a month now.

Any help with this? How can I remove this stuff it shows.

It says "This device belongs to your organisation"

Is it not best you return it to whoever you bought it from to help you fix it, rather than seek online advise?

I bought it over a month ago. All these UK used phones. And I just observed it last night.

I don't know if the guy will take it. I just have issues of privacy. Otherwise, phone works smoothly

Probably the phone was stolen through pickpocket or outright robbery from abroad and shipped to Nigeria to be sold as second hand...without knowing that the phone belongs to an organisation...

That phone needs to be flashed..... it's a special type of flashing.
The phone am using now was like that.
The owner bought it on credit n didn't balance up before it was stolen.

the phone is a company phone, it was given to the person who sold it to u when he was working in d company n he ought to return it before leaving the company

He didn't do that n u unknowingly bought it from him, the bad news is that the company monitors everything u do on d phone, the phone is restricted n if u download some apps it will b automatically deleted, they can automatically install apps on d phone without your consent n d oga patapata is that they can lock d phone if they wish

oga this is not about flashing or stolen phone or phone gotten on credit

It's a company phone, they can lock it anytime they deem fit

At op, u should notice that anytime u are charging it, it will always write " this phone is monitored by your organisation"

bro all I have to tell u is that the phone is company phone

If u check well it normally automatically install apps on it without your consent

If u check well u won't b able to download n install many apps aside d ones authorized by d company

I know all these cos I don use company phone before, I had to buy another phone for my own use cos their phone is only meant for their work

If u doubt me just try install some apps on it from playstore, oga your best bet is to access some site from chrome

Go and collect password from the admin...well joke apart. You simply bought a locked phone that was meant for an organization. I know so cos m using same. But mine the organization gave it to me and i later unlocked the phone to have full access/control over the phone. Just goto any good phone repair centre with your receipt or use google.

I have a device like this, a macbook used by Door dash. In your case the only way to remove it is to check if you reflash it with a custom rom

That's not the case, companies frequently change office equipment, sometimes access is forgetten to be wiped from the computer. And these are the same equipment some of our foreign used sellers import to the country.

LandMann:
This is not necessarily true.

The phone can be a personal phone.

In that case, the owner installed a mobile device management app to allow his organisation manage the phone for security reasons.

This often happens in large organisations that use exclusive email communication network that everyone in the company use. This email can be used to login to the company's system and other online services, software or program.

For example, your company called ZoneTech may use Outlook while your email as a company worker is Goodnewsforlife@zonetech.com.

This email is very sensitive cos it can grant you access to secure communications and other sensitive information in the company if you have the necessary passwords and authorisation.

At the same time organisation often restrict access to email communication to only their computer systems or laptops and other devices.

But it's not everyone that is given laptops or mobile devices by a company... They are expected to use the company's computer within the company's premises within a secure local area network.

If you then wish to have the ability to access your company email communication on your phone you'll be required to install a mobile device management app on your phone by the IT office of your company and also follow other security protocols

This is to enable them safeguard their email communication on your phone cos your phone may become compromised from virus and pose a threat to the company's entire system and business.

If you heard about the infamous Obi Invictus guy that was apprehended by US authorities for fraud, the guy specialized in business email compromis form of yahoo called BEC.

they hack into company's email communication network then start monitoring conversation to understand chain of command... once they understand how financial dealings are approved and authorised by the company through the various people in the company giving approval through email, they step in and get approval through email to pay money to an account they control.

There are many other hacks and sabotage that can be perpetuated by fraudsters once they have access to company email, hence the need to install the mobile device management app on your personal phone before you can be allowed to receive and send company email on your phone and access other company related stuff on the phone

Just taking time to explain this from personal experience so people don't get misinformed.

Cheers
Thank you so much bro. This actually helped.

The phone is a UK used phone. Have no idea how it got to Nigeria but I bought it through a friend who sells phones.

I'll go see if they can remove the device privacy. If not, I'll use it like that.
