Even me oo. I remember around 2006,when yahoo and Internet just dey penetrate in the country. My friends, TY and Niyi, both now in USA would tell me to follow them to Cyber cafe for night browsing and to meet new white chicks on yahoo messenger. I wud refused, telling them it's evil and I cant joke with my sleep. Later, these guys started bombing on eBays started getting clothes and shoes online.

I remember DHL was their major shipping channels then. I was tempted to join them but my church mind wouldn't agree.

Then in 2007, during my pre degree in lautech ogbomoso,i had the opportunity to become a big boy,as I moved with some correct yahoo boys den,but I think I my brain was too slow to decode the updates and OTs those guys were giving me. I later regretted not joining those guys as they were ready to teach me all the rudiments.

Today those guys ride Lexus and are out of the country. One of them sent me 200k for my wedding. I for dey ball like them by now,but I gock am. Still painful sha
Guy,

Point of correction, Yahoo Yahoo wasn't just penetrating into the country in 2006. It started some years before that.

In Early 2000s, Yahoo Yahoo has started in Lagos. I had a coursemate who was living in Festac that already knows the rudiments of gee.

Even in 2001/2002, he introduced it a little to me in a cafe, but I didn't take it serious. Those guys were already making some cash then and buying good clothes to campus.

Anyways, you would definitely regret not joining them because those guys made serious cash and they build houses, married and travelled out easily.

Those were the days of transfer, cheque, inheritance, lotto, dating, courier and eBay format. There was nothing like rituals. It was just the application of reasonings and critical thinking.

My guy, I miss the days of Yahoo Messenger. I wish there can be a free chat app or website like that.

Another FOOL who glorifies crime and worship criminals.

Imagine an "influencer" BLATANTLY dismissing diligent and LEGITIMATE work in favour of RUINING the life of another person to enrich yourself.

This is the kind of WICKED and EVIL people we have in Nigeria who yield even MORE evil and wicked politicians.

Greed and corruption and making quick money is so ENTRENCHED in Nigerians that sensible people now ENVY criminals.

A shame!

The punishment for doing Yahoo nerds to be MORE brutal.
You pick $100, you pick 50 years in prison.
Pick $10,000+, your future generation will DIE in prison.

The world is going DIGITAL. Major businesses are being carried out ONLINE. But Nigerians are CONSTANTLY being EXCLUDED and isolated because of the STUPID Yahoo Boys who have ruined the reputation of Nigerians in the Cyberspace.

We ALL suffer the consequences of the GREED and CRIMES of these fools without knowing it.

ALL Yahoo Boys should ROT in prison.
Nothing serious will be done to Yahoo boys.
Government officials still get their money from corrupt ways,
Police also gets their cuts from those guys.
All na game.

I regret not doing fraud – Actor Aremu Afolayan

Actor Aremu Afolayan of Nollywood has expressed his dissatisfaction with the nation’s current economic situation, saying that a layman cannot be supported by legal forms of employment alone.

He expressed on his Instagram page how he regretted not being a part of the online scam known as “yahoo yahoo” and how operating a respectable business felt pointless in this day and age. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

He wrote:

“All of the days wey dem dey talk about yahoo yahoo, na today I regret pass say I no do am. Legitimate hustling never felt super useless #aremuafolayan.”

You're quite right sha. U know GSM entered Nigeria around 2003, and no Internet then except u go to Cyber cafe to browse. But I think it was around 2005,2006 that my guys started doing night browsing on yahoo messenger. Yahoo then was purely on smartness and not ritual as we hv today

Na so, unfortunately we now have a leader in the country who toiled the path of criminalities to get to the top. From name and age falsifications to drugs and election rigging. How do we explain this to the unborn generations?

the ideology behind money sef na yahoo. Imagine a casual labourer who works at a building site carrying blocks all day getting paid peanuts while a politician who does next to nothing gets paid in millions. Where the balance dey?
It is foolishness to be 100% legit in an illegitimate world. It should be 50/50. That is why I sin intentionally sometimes.

oga let me break it down to u

If u are a big player n u have strong financial back up u can do it but if u are an hustler thinking u can make it with car sales na oyo oooo

For example...a car dealer with 20 cars n over 50 million in his account will not rush to sell any car n he will make his profit well cos he has back up

But u as an hustler that u have 5 cars n 300k in your account, if u need 1 million the first thing in your mind will b to see a buyer

Car wey u suppose make gain of 1.5 million on top u go rush sell am because u need money

Bro d story long, if u no enter u no go understand

Maybe he explained it wrong. First of all on what legal hustle is,probably a 9-5 or a small business. That will get u as much as a plate of food and a place to lay your head along with 2-3 dependant. Just imagine how many centuries of savings one will do citing from the legal hustle based on this post to achieve the net worth of Dangote. There is more to surplus wealth and abundance. The day I get there I will sure notify u guys until then. I dey ok with my 2k for today, 2k for tomorrow.

Sure, it was purely on cafe things.
Night browsing was not for the faint hearted oh!
I would do night browsing and in the morning, leave the cafe, bath and start going to work. It was not really easy.
All night browsing was N200 but we used to have chairman who would pay and we would do the rest scratching and bombing addresses from USA, HK, Canada and UK.
