Most police officers, anti cult n other local security officers are criminals.
This is my fear with this state police proposal. The way people look for money anyway anyhow in Nigeria nowadays is alarming. Talking about police salaries, one police man said even if 1M is the lowest salary in the force, they must look for the daily income. This is too bad.

in this life eh, One has to be Smart & Intelligent.

I am the kinda person whom should you judge by appearance, would consider too poor as to afford to feed mySelf once per day.

I often ensure I have at least 2 SMS alert from my bank depicting account balance less than 10,000 naira.

Something happened mid last year when I ran into Vigilante guys. Those are thieves who are employed as Vigilante and they work with Police. I was innocent except I came back late hence ran into them and was detained. Later they asked for money and I cried I had none. they stylishly collected my phone - no be better phone sef. na CAT phone wey ugly so tey even alaye go pick am give you back. Dem use style go through my messages and believed me though they wasted my time sha because I spent the night with them.

Also some years back, I rushed into a Bus, not knowing it's used by Policemen on Mufti. na so dem take style search me but found nothing. Me wey poor die. While others struggle to show the world wealth that they might not even have, me ma default appearance na opposite.

Often, I suggest Your main account should never have ATM or internet-Banking or USSD facility. Even the account having such facility shouldn't have beyond the money you can't easily forget should it fly away.
Anything else, just walk into the banking hall and do it there. To me, it's worth the stress.
Default appearance grin

When an entire nation's security apparatus is riddled and filled with Corrupt bastards, how can such a nation ever be safe and secure?!!

Shebi this was what Endsars protests were all about... The rot and decay in the nation's security apparatus, especially and specifically the Police Force.

Yet, you leaders and those of you idiots supporting the government did nothing about the yearning of the protesters... Y'all swept the pressing issues under the rug.

How many years since the protests? What reforms have been brought into the Police force?!!

You have a point. What I don't get is how come Nigerians aren't filling Facebook, twitter, etc., with at least the names of these corrupt police suspects so others can maybe come together to demand an investigation. lipsrsealed

How?
Police that answer only to President.
Is it not better to decentralize it.
If police is bad in one state you move to another
Bit of its bad in the whole Nigeria......? Where do you run?

Because the police answers only to the President it can then not be reformed? Should we equally assert that because the army answers to the President, it too cannot be reformed? Which kain eye inference be this abeg! undecided

Reform the police system with whom?
Which people are you going to put in the police system?
Who will train them?
What is their basis of operation?
Whom should they protect?
How much will you pay them?
How dedicated can you make them?
If there is NO NATION, then there is no reason to protect one.
This is the case we are in right now.
The existing police do not see any reason to protect the people.
The people, us, are here daily on social media insulting and fighting each other with our different arguments.
Why should any police give a damn about protecting us from any thing?
They will just leave us to kill ourselves with all our useless hot arguments
and extort money from whomever they can intimidate.
They have families to feed and want to save their own lives.
They will protect the rich politicians giving them money to eat.

Some of these policemen are like ACP IYAMU the one they executed with Lawrence Anini during Babangida regime. Most indomie kids would not understand who IYAMU was and his collaboration with the thieves in the 90s.

Policemen nabbed for allegedly extorting man of N3 million in Bayelsa

The Nigeria Police Force has arrested several policemen attached to the Zone 16 Command in Yenagoa, Bayelsa for their alleged involvement in a N3 million extortion case. The Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, disclosed this in a statement posted on his official social media account.

Adejobi stated that the policemen in question had been apprehended following an internal investigation and would be transferred to the Force Headquarters (FHQ) in Abuja.

“The policemen involved in this case of extortion of ₦3 million have been arrested. The men are attached to Zone 16 Command in Yenagoa. The command has been asked to produce the men at the FHQ,” Adejobi wrote.

He further emphasized the commitment of the Force Headquarters to cleansing the police system and ensuring justice is served in all cases brought to its attention.

A Nigerian man, Kelechi Isaac, had released a video on social media in which he accused police operatives in Bayelsa State of extorting N3 million from him at gunpoint.

Isaac who hails from Nguru Nworie, a community in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo state, but based in Ghana, said he had returned to Nigeria to attend a friend’s traditional marriage ceremony in Bayelsa State when the incident happened.

Those disgruntled misfits must be made to bear the full weight of the law for their travesty.
It will not be justice done to society if these dangerous criminals are only disgraced and dismissed from the supposed law enforcement body. Discharging them into society will endanger society. These animalistic humans will redirect the military training the police force gave them against society. They will become kidnap kingpins, bandits trainers and every other service providers inimical to society. Those demons in human skin must never taste freedom ever again! Anything short of this is hazardous and disservice to society. They must remain incarcerated for the rest of their miserable lifetime in the interest of society and civilization. That is Justice.

Most of you don't have a clear idea of what it means to reform an existing system. This entire rant of yours actually contains a lot of information on what needs to be reformed of the existing force but you don't see it yourself because you don't have a clear clue of what it means to reform a thing. undecided

But here is the thing! You go on facebook, twitter, X, etc, and you rarely find a mention of the name and badge of a police man or woman implicated by any citizen. It is almost as though citizens excuse the crimes committed against them by these men. How do you bring them to book if they are not identified and named by those whom they commit these crimes against? undecided
