First how does this memory verse support the claim that Jesus is God?

Jesus came to give us understanding, okay understanding about what

1. That we may know HIM who is true... Who is that?
We are in HIM, even in HIS son Jesus Christ. And He is the true God.

Now this verse doesn't prove in anyway that Jesus is God yet it is a verse to be remembered as one that is supposed to support such believe?

Jesus is clearly called the Son of God, not God.

And the bible text for Sunday school, John 1:1-5 but let us read 4 more verses as well

John.1.1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John.1.2 - He was in the beginning with God.
John.1.3 - All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
John.1.4 - In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
John.1.5 - And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
John.1.6 - There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
John.1.7 - This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe.
John.1.8 - He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
John.1.9 - That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.


John 1:1 the word was with Theon and Theos was the word, apart from that this are two different words. We won't learn greek in one day so let's focus on the text.

He (the son) was in the beginning with God, He beginning Jesus

Read verse 4. In Him was life and that life was the light of men. Now the mistake is to believe that Him referred to in verse 4 is the same as He referred to in verse 2.

In Him was the life that was light

Now read verse 6 to 9, John came to testify of the light, correct. Yes John came to testify of the light, Jesus. John didn't come to testify about "HIM" in whom light was.

We see from the very beginning John differentiate between the Father and the Son

Clearly this verses ended with Jesus is God... No. IT DID NOT. SO WHERE AND HOW DID RCCG COME WITH THEIR DOCTRINE AND BELIEVE THAT YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE THAT JESUS IS GOD.

Jesus is Christ, son of the living God. Who so ever believes in him shall have life. Not who so ever believes that Jesus is God.

I can go on and handle every single point they tried to used but it would take time and space to do so.

1 John 5:20 actually proved Jesus is THE TRUE God.

The same John wrote in 1 John 1: 2 "Yes, the one who is life was to us. We saw him, and so we can tell others about him. We now tell you about him. He is the eternal life that was with God the Father and was shown to us."

John actually said here that Jesus is The very ETERNAL LIFE

So, you can see how 1 John 5:20 agreed with 1 John 1:2.

The reason why you people don't want to acknowledge Jesus as God is the veil covering your eyes. Scripture already gave us every knowledge will need about Jesus being God Almighty but you people will rather reject God very own testimony and embrace another thing.

Well, from Jesus very own mouth "so that everyone will honor the Son, JUST AS THEY HONOR THE FATHER. Anyone who does not honor the Son is certainly not honoring the Father who sent him." John 5:20

Walk to any person you know is very older than you then tell the person face to face that sir/ma "As from today I want you to HONOR me JUST AS YOU HONOR your Father/Mother"

God (Eloi) is a title. Different persons (Father, Son, Holy Spirit, Angels etc) can bear the title.

Don’t confuse the title with the person.

Elohim (Gods) is the plural of Elo

The Father (Hashem, Yahweh) is the most high (El Elyon) whom Jesus refers to as “my God”.

Don’t get it twisted, just same way King is a title. Different people can bear the title of King, it doesn’t mean they’re the same person. For example, David and Saul were kings, doesn’t mean David and Saul are the same person.

The very 1 John 1:2 you says the life was with the Father, was with God and not that He is God, yet you claim it is prove?

You have to first deceive yourself before you deceive and confuse others.

That 1 john clearly shows that Jesus is the VERY ETERNAL LIFE.

So, Jesus being Son of God isn't an issue but you failed to understand what does it mean to be ETERNAL.
