But why do you Igbo comment so foolishly on anything about Lagos. I am particular about this hospital because I have monitored it groundbreaking and as been very angry work ceased before the first floor was built.

This update right here prove Sanwo carefully select projects he want to work on and channel fund accordingly. I am yet to see a single article on Nairaland about work stopping on that project before it got to this stage, meaning the project was never abandoned n only witnessed normal Nigeria delay on construction so what exactly are you wailing about.

Is it that they are too slow with the project n project in the East are done faster or what exactly are you wailing about ?

Till today you Igbos do not give Tinubu credit for building Island maternity which success as now spread to Badagry Ikorodu Ajah Epe. This basic mother n child care innovation is unparalleled anywhere in the history of Nigeria n no state in Nigeria as at today dare compete with it efficiency but here you are doing cho cho cho more than Lagosian.

All your 5 Igbo governors from 1999 till date what have they accomplished that can be compare to 1/million of this project yet you have not created a single comment to denigrate them.

iwaeda:
Lanre, please show the level of work as at today. Nothing much is going on again, since pre 2023 elections. From Phase 1,VIO, to phase 4 to Adeniji is my area. Julius Berger handling the project are not active. Let Sanwo-Olu, expedite this project and stop photo ups. grin grin grin grin cry cry cry cry

Though the helipad can be used for emergency if there is Helicopter ambulance but don't you think it will cause noise pollution and will negatively affect sick or sleeping children?

There's no even guarantee that the hospital can afford or use a helicopter as ambulance.

However that doesn't mean anyone can go there expecting free treatment because human life is involved, the best you can get is first aid while you source for money.
I make this as a general comment to all world governments - not to LASG - regarding the bold - Healthcare is one thing that should be FREE.

The New Massey Children's Hospital being built in Adeniji Adele is going to be the largest Children's hospital in Africa. The project was started by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu so as to meet the needs of Lagosians as the old one was getting filled up.

The new hospital is a a 150-bed specialist hospital for children in Lagos which will also have a heliport on top.

Pictures of the update
While this is good development, I call on the LASG to replace that lift in the General hospital on the Island that killed a medical doctor last year as I gathered nothing has been done about it till date. undecided

You need to move on from such negativism.

so in developed world where emergency helicopter services are operated with an helipad, how were they able to achieve that? And talking about ambulance service, don’t you think the govt would have taken that into consideration before the plan and construction of the project?

My brother this is Lagos, where things work atleast to some extent, and not some deadbeat state grin let learn to give some credit to the state govt when they make step to bring development we all see in the developed world.

Tinubu glaring failure don tire, I have vowed not to make a single comment supporting or defending his foolish policies or government till I see positive change that I can see n touch n not assume.

I never dreamt of giving Obi or PDP a chance at the federal but with gross failure of both Buhari n now Tinubu everyone supporting APC should seriously question if those in APC deserve to lead at all.

I can not believe Edu Cardoso Fashola Gbaja n host of others will be in government n the country keep deteriorating and they can not find a solution to mitigate their own senseless policy. I supported a Tinubu govt cos I believe he can make Nigeria beta, if he can not he beta resign.

Are they supposed to bring the medical equipment and devices to the construction site before building the facility itself? Let them finish the building first before talking about equipment. Learn to appreciate good things.
Health workers always prioritise human lives, especially in the public sector where they have no personal stake in profits of the facility. However that doesn't mean anyone can go there expecting free treatment because human life is involved, the best you can get is first aid while you source for money.
Why are you typing like someone whose brain is doing overheating? angry angry

I shared a painful experience of my life history and all you could regurgitate was the sentiment of not appreciating good things? Who cursed you with a faulty brain? huh huh

It's crystal clear that you're not familiar with how Nigerian government hospitals operate. How about you take a back seat and let people share their "first hand experience?".

Seven years ago when my daughter was "rushed" to Massey Street Hospital. The nurses on duty were busy asking "foolish questions" while the child was dying. It took the intervention of a Consultant (who was passing by) to tell them to save the child first and that questioning will come later. As a matter of fact, he stepped in immediately and stabilized the child.

Then, the issue of Oxygen popped up. We were informed that they were out of "Oxygen". A hospital of that size ran out of Oxygen! I had to pull strings in other to get Oxygen from another hospital. What if I don't have the "connection?".

Next, was the issue of drugs. They have this useless policy of referring patients to go source for drugs in "private pharmacies" outside. What the heck was that? huh huh

Then, the non challant attitude of the nurses almost made us lose the child. After being placed on admission, the child's condition took a bad turn in the middle of the night. My wife rushed to call the Nurses on duty only to find them watching T.V. Guess what one of them said; "Madam, stop disturbing me abeg. The Doctors will be here in the morning to examine your child". And guess who came in the morning? Some "Student Doctors" who were using my child as a case study in their useless discussion. See ehn, let's just thank God for his mercies and favours that day.

It was that harrowed experience that made me hate anything government hospital. Funny enough, it wasn't the first time.

My write-up doesn't imply "free treatment" as you foolishly opined. It's a call to action by the government to ensure that our hospitals do not only have gigantic structures. They should also have the right equipments and attitude towards saving human lives. And that our health workers too should priotize human life. It's their job to save lives and not act non challantly.

Please always read with your brain intact so that you don't come off as one who is inherently not gifted with a faculty of discernment. It's too early to be experiencing this kind of brain comcussion. cheesy cheesy cheesy
