Labour Party BoT To Abure: Your Tenure As National Chairman Expired On June 9 by fergie001(mod): 12:29pm On Sep 12, 2024
The Labour Party, LP, Caretaker Committee in Abuja has urged Julius Abure to stop parading himself as the national chairman of the party, saying his tenure expired on June 9.

The Secretary, Board of Trustees, of the party Salisu Mohammed said this during a news conference organised by the leadership of the Labour National Transitional Committee, NTC, in Abuja.

He said the decision was reached at the Umuahia stakeholder meeting by the Nenadi Usman-led Caretaker Committee which was lawful and legitimate.

Mohammed said the NTC engaged and mobilised all relevant stakeholders to ensure that the party recovered itself from what it described as Abure’s illegality and corruption.

He said since Abure’s assumption of office as national chairman following the sudden death of the party’s National Chairman, Abdulkadir Abdulsalam in 2000, he had led the party without election.

‘In fact, INEC, the Independent National Electoral Commission, had asked him to vacate the chair meant for the Chairman of the Labour Party.

“These interventions by the NTC have culminated in the meeting of the National Executive Committee, NEC, of the Labour Party in Umuahia.

“The National Transitional Committee, NTC facilitated by the Nigerian Labour Congress as the Trustee of the Labour Party fully accepts and commends the decision of the NEC of the Labour Party at its meeting on September 4, 2024.

“We support the 29-man Caretaker Committee to prepare and conduct democratic congresses to elected party leadership at the Ward, LGA, State and National levels’’, he said.

According to him, the NEC organised by Governor Alex Otti of Abia is the most welcome intervention needed to save the party from what he described as illegalities.

Abure should drag them to court and at the court, He will win the case

Thing is, Pity Giiriiinngoory will be the biggest loser here, cause if Abure wins in all of this, Otti would decamp to save face and that one guy from a village not too far from Aguleri will lose the Presidential Auto-ticket in 2027

Obi is always choosing the wrong battle to fight

Babablu bulabu.

The biggest losers are the ones shouting ebin pawa, buying petrol at 1,000 naira a liter after voting druglord Timlubu.

You guys were boasting that Apapa Lamidi will win at the court, what happened to that babablu prediction?

You can’t manage a small party you want to run a country like Nigeria?

Your new interim chairman embezzled govt money was asked to refund
The other factional chairman accused of embezzling campaign funds
Your campaign Dg had corruption cases
Your Vp candidate was sacked as a senator after caught rigging his elections
Your your campaign coordinator accused of diverting funds
Your staunch backer accused of dodgy deals in Ogun state.
Your key supporters accused of receiving campaign monies into their account to
Your spokesman abandoned you
Your influencers accused of diverting campaign funds

You gan gan diverted state funds into your family business.

You are all dirty from top to bottom yet you are pointing fingers up and down.

In all of this Obi is the biggest loser.

The two options available to him will be:

1. To forcefully takeover the leadership of Labour party and go ahead to contest 2027 under Labour Party. When this happens, the Wike scenario of PDP in 2023 will hunt him. Remember PDP went ahead stiff-necked together with Iyiorcha Ayu as the National chairman and lost election that they would have won with wide margin. Wike a big figure just like Abure the big figure was jettisoned, Wike went away with 5 governors to support another party and the party won. You dont toy with a person with as much influence as the chairman of a party. The party will literarily brake into pieces if Abure is forcefully axed out from scheme of things.

2. To abandon the party for Abure and join another political party for the 2027 election. The question is which party? APC? Capital No! Jagaban stand gidigba there! PDP? Maybe yes maybe no. Lets assume PDP gives him the ticket, that will naturally satisfy the quest for and the need for balancing of power between the north and the south for 8 years. Now, the big issue is will Peter Gregory Obi be able to carry the Obidients from a perceived 'corrupt-free', 'saner' and 'upright' Labour Party to the ever touted corrupt-ridden PDP? What moral justification will be succinct enough to persuade the Obidients, many of whom hate both APC and PDP with passion?

Well maybe except the Obidients are really Zombidients as some people call them, they will vote for PDP because of Peter Obi.

As stressed up here, the best thing for PO to do is to remain in Labour party, settle with Abure and get his unflinching support in 2027. Though that in itself is not enough to guarantee him victory as he will be contesting and contending with incumbent different from President Jonathan, Jagaban surely know to how to earn and use power, check his control over almost all the southwest states immediately he left governor seat.

PO needs to birth an alliance with the north this time around, he needs to shun tribal and most importantly religious campaings. The era of Yes Daddy is over! That wont take him anywhere.

Bigwigs within Labor Party + Abure United to fought Apapa or what's the name of that Baba (Former Labor Party Chairman) and chased him away.

They were all rejoicing.

Now Bigwigs within Labor Party are now fighting with same Abure who was their arrowhead then.

In nut shell, no permanent friends in politics but permanent interest, it doesn't matter which of the tribes you're from.

Don't kill yourself because of politicians, know this and have your peace.

In Fela's voice:
You be thief, I no be thief
You be rubber, I no be rubber
Arguments! Arguments!! Argue

That's the current song within Labor Party circle.

Labor Party, I hail thee.

A country where citizens actively encourage all sorts of criminality deserves the kind of leaders they get. Nigeria deserves Tinubu and the suffering many of your folks are going through, i must say. How do you support a man whose tenure expired and he does not want to go, rather he is fighting the legitimate party organs that asked him to step down for a National Convention where new leadership will emerge and he is even free to contest for another term in office as Chairman. Is something wrong with Nigerians? Even INEC with its level of corruption and bias has refused to accept Julius Abure as LP Chairman since his tenure expired, yet you are here glorifying him for attempting to force crisis in LP. Which of the elected LP officials in States and National Assembly are with Julius Abure? None,. Not even one. Julius is too little to disturb LP
