Like we dont regularly see doctors checking for symptoms of mere simple cases on google
it is better to check Google than to make a mistake on a patients body. Even old-fashioned doctors would pore through the references in front of patients. Nothing is wrong with looking online

Go to hospitals , especially one in area 11 of Abuja and small small girls who are supposed to be doctors checking google for medical information of the patient sitting in front of them😞😞

I'm a medical student, to be honest, even though you pay or sleep with any lecturer, one person can't pass you on any course. The way it's structured, over 8 lecturers handle one course, and it's usually mixed with male and female lecturers. How many do you think you'll sleep with just to pass if one lecturer only has 10 marks to give out, out of 60 marks required to pass. It's usually difficult to pay or sleep with lecturers to pass in medical school. Trust me
Leave them alone. Let their ignorance kill them!!!
Because there are just 2 courses in Nigeria, medicine and others, it's why they are hating on us. Also because medicine is the only course that is like a fraternity, who no come, no go know. The above 2 reasons can explain the hate!!!!

Good points/observations.

But:

In medical school, u have so many lecturers teaching u that u cannot pay for all.

And not all consultants will collect money, take note.

Even year 5 ( path and pharm) how many consultants do u want to sort? Or can u sort?

Many consultants even fear to pass any lazy medical students ( in fact the moment u fail and are eligible for a resit exam eh, they already see u as a failure).

Again, take note that even those that sort most times do so, not because they cannot pass.... But because there are limited slots to move to the next level.

At the end of the day u may find out that even those that sort may be even better doctors.

Cos everybody dey read like say tomorrow no dey for medical school.

Students sleep with lecturers
If this isn’t listed, the report isn’t fit for Nairaland’s front page. One would think citizens are exposed enough to disregard sex being an issue. No, mongrels here and in the real world prove me wrong every time. Consensual sex is not a crime. Fornication is not a sin. Your gods do not exist. Humans were created to knack once they hit puberty. Copulation brought every human being to existence.

Lies
In my class, we had a man and woman who were both close to 50 years.
I entered medical school with direct entry, meaning I did a course before medicine, so I was older than most people in my class, and I wasn't the only DE student. What I'm trying to say is that, it's not possible for your girlfriend to be the oldest in your imaginary school

But:

And not all consultants will collect money, take note.

Even year 5 ( path and pharm) how many consultants do u want to sort? Or can u sort?

Even if u sort, if u more write well, the lecturer can be unable to pass u cos, like in most instances, 5 lecturers can mark just one script( 5 lecturers can contribute 7 questions in one particular department). So the bulk still lies on the medical student to write well, cos as they are marking, other lecturers can scrutinize other answers.

Again, during Viva exam( oral exam) trust me: IF SORTED AND PASSED THE WRITTEN EXAM AND U CANNOT ANSWER QUESTIONS WHEN ASKED IN FRONT OF LET'S SAY, 5 CONSULTANTS, THEY WILL BRING OUT UR SCRIPT AND SCRUTINIZE IT AND FAIL U THERE!

Many consultants even fear to pass any lazy medical students ( in fact the moment u fail and are eligible for a resit exam eh, they already see u as a failure).

Again, take note that even those that sort most times do so, not because they cannot pass.... But because there are limited slots to move to the next level. Every medical school has a quota. Some can only graduate 30 doctors per session, some more,.

At the end of the day u may find out that even those that sort may be even better doctors.

Cos everybody dey read like say tomorrow no dey for medical school.

Now after medical school, ur hands play a huge role in how good u are.

Less cramming of big text books.
More practice of what u have been taught.

It's not possible if you ever went to medical school you would know.....no one lecturer can pass you...your script is marked by more than one lecturer and results comes out two days after examination....I am a know this first hand so believe this right up at your own risk....not to talk of external examiner from another school not close to your state....Omo content creator writing this.

If she couldn't sleep with the rest, she could sort them instead.

It doesn't change the FACT that SOME medical students sleep with their lectures. It is public knowledge. That lecturer whose mark is only 10 will convince they ladies who are also ready to sleep with him that he can influence the marks of other lectures for her to pass. Same goes with guys who pay with cash.

NOTHING LIKE HATE. IT IS WHAT IT IS!.

I’m not really interested in those qualifications, as I'm content being a business person.

However, poor writing skills are a significant concern for a medical doctor. It can seriously impact your ability to communicate with patients, which may lead life-threatening mistakes.

I strongly recommend working on your English.

Anyways , my younger sister has double degrees in pharmacology and medicine, and she's available if you'd like to connect for advice or support.

Thanks

I dnt understand this slot you talking about...u mean if they want 20 students in d next class & 20 or less it must be even if 30 passed?
What you mean everybody read like no tomorrow,is it not about answering questions correctly?

A course is taught by at least 5 different lecturers.

The one you sorted or paid may have just a question to mark, as each question is answered on a separate booklet or answer sheet or none at all.
Re: Unspeakable Thing About Medical Schools In Nigeria by phantom(m): 4:05pm On Sep 12, 2024
Really? 😂 😂... on a serious note, I don't doubt these things happen... its a symptom of the larger societal and governmental failure BUT I can bet you it's not as bad as it is in other courses and departments.

Medical school is still largely reputable in Nigeria. Take it to the bank.

When I was in med school, we had these same things back then but those involved were minute. I'm not sure it's much different today.
