Economy doing well, people doing badly...how do you people measure this "wellness"? Is it by having surplus money while people starve, trek everywhere, drop out of school and wear tattered clothes? I don't get it o

This is exactly why Ngelale had to go. He seemed to not have the skillset required for the job. Nigeria's export has been exceeding imports since 2020 when Buhari closed the border but Tinubu is touting it like it just happened yesterday.

Onanuga cited the NBS report, noting that “although total merchandise trade in Q2 2024 stood at N31.89 trillion, a 3.76% decline compared to the preceding quarter (Q1 2024), it marked a 150.39% rise from the corresponding period in 2023.”
Can someone help us ask Onanuga the volume of trade instead of using currency value since we all know the exchange rate in Q2 2023 was an average of 400 to the dollar while today, we have 1600 to the dollar. That's a 400% devaluation yet your export value rose by just 150%. This actually shows a decline in real value.
Now to the real matter
The dominance of crude oil exports remains a key factor in this performance, contributing N14.56 trillion, or 74.98%, of total exports.
Can any of nairalanda1, grandstar or LegendHero explain this to me?
If we made N14trn in export value from crude alone in a quarter of 3 months, that's an average of 5trn per month. 60% of 14trn is 8.4trn which translates to average of 3trn per month. How come our faac in each of those months in the 2nd quarter never exceeded 1.5trn? Where's the rest of the money? You see why lies are bad now?
