With this big shame coming to your country your own problem is the curse laid upon your opressor. Why can't you direct your anger towards the one who brought shame to your country rather than having argument with another fellow.quote [author=DevilsEqual post=131981742]

na you dey play ... Ghana has the largest man made dam in Africa ( akosombo dam , that is by way bigger than kanji dam) Nigeria doesn't supply Ghana electricity , tinubu cannot off what it can't give. Ghana also supply Benin , Burkina faso, Togo and Ivory Coast power . Used Google .

Ghana is a high energy generating Nation, with over 5000 megawatt in disposal and three thousand at used anytime. This is for a country less than 30, million.

However there is gas supply agreement between the two nation .
Your country ghana is deceiving you Charlie, Do some research and thank me later

This comment is not necessary. The cedi is artificially valued. Nigeria can do the same without adding value to our economy. Just remove two zeros and that's it. What is the value of Japanese yen, Italian lira, French franc and Chinese currency to the dollar but the economies are still strong.

We should desist from condemning everything about our country. Others celebrate their small yansh but we wey get biggy de condemn. The size of the entire Ghanaian economy at its best is not up to the Lagos economy.

Funny enough, I have this ¢1000 cedis note. Surprised to find out it's worth about #107,000. I'll look towards changing it!

I think Ghanaians knocked off some zeros from their currency a while ago.

Though our situation is not funny, but this has to checked before taking this serious.

It shall be well.

Ghanaians are deceiving themselves.
Because of the poor value of their currency, the government decided to remove two zeros.

It's still as worthless as Zambian money!

Even though our Naira depreciated beyond the low, it is still more valuable than the Ghana Cedis.

It's not about the quantity but the value. Naira is a shitty currency but can still go along way within Nigeria. 200 cedis won't last you a week in Ghana but 20k can last more than a week in Nigeria.

Money finishes faster in Ghana but you can still make money if you have something doing. People are more willing to pay more for services in Ghana than Nigeria.
200 Cedis last one week ke? 😂
I had more than 1k Cedis cash a few hours ago but currently looking for where I will do withdrawals.
Cedis dey do voom voom voom grin

So has Tinubu's method solved the problems on ground?
It's beginning to. More foreign exchange is now entering into the economy. The Naira is more stable now. The exchange rate is market reflective. The massive gap between the official and black market rate is basically gone, prevent the rountripping that was too common during Buhari's regime

One can see the benefits of the floating of the Naira. In WhatsApp Business app, you' can pay for FaceBook adverts in Naira. Go to Cameo.com and be shocked. Before, these services were only available in dollars.

He needs to remove the petrol subsidy and fully deregulate the price as already done with diesel and kerosene.

This would reduce the budget deficit big time, and the amount spent on debt financing.

As can be seen with the Dangote refinery, no one is willing to sell at a price that is neither market or cost reflective. He isn't prepared to sell at a loss.

That's why investor have refused to invest in refining. Mobile telephony boomed in Nigeria because the telecom companies could charge what they pleased. They invested massively and now, Nigeria has over 100m lines from 400,000 in 2001. The huge investments helped bolster the Nigerian economy

Mtel fixed its price at N22 per minute and is no more today

The price of petrol needs to be freed. The biggest benefit is that it would result in huge investment in refining. It would create wealth. Don't Be surprised that within 10 years, refining capacity would hit 2mbpd. The petrol subsidy is improverishing Nigerians

Also, the bigger the fiscal deficit as a percentage of GDP, the more likely your currency is likely to depreciate. Since the petrol subsidy causes huge deficits, it leads to Naira depreciation.

What would you prefer, petrol at N600/litre and the Naira at N3,000/dollar in 4yrs time, or petrol at 1,500/litre, and the Naira at 1,800/dollar in 4yrs time?

If subsidy had been removed during Jonathan's government, I doubt the exchange rate will be more than $1-N500.

I don't give a damn what the average man on the street thinks. I wrote off the Buhari government within its first 30 days in office. I knew he was an economic disaster based on his first policies. The average man did not discern his incompetence, neither did you.

Anyone who distrusted him, especially the Igbos, did so based on his ethnicity and nothing more.

When the Thai economy collapsed in 1996, it took it 5 years, for it to achieve its pre-1996 gross domestic product. Many of you have no understanding of economics neither do you want to learn. Many of you are no better than Oshiomole.

As labour leader, he made it difficult for OBJ to remove the fuel subsidy. When he became governor, he then realized it actually cost money to provide this subsidy. He supported the subsidy removal by Jonathan in 2012.

What people like you and the common man on the street want is the continuation of the disastrous policies that destroyed the economy under Buhari. He shielded the masses from suffering by heavy borrowing. By the time he left office, almost all government revenue was used to service debt.

grandstar, a.k.a subsidywise, a.k.a nairalanda1...

I know you and you have always written and supported nonsense economic plans that don't fit in with reality on ground or bring up solution that don't fit in what the problem is on ground...

The major problem with you is that you are so engrossed with your economic idea, plan or solution that you forget the primary purpose of things and throw away the inclusiveness of various issues tied with the problem you intend solving, you act like a driver that is just on acceleration moving on full speed because he has been told he needs to get somewhere, he doesn't care about anybody on the road, knocks everything that is in his front and doesn't even care about the vehicle, his mission must be accomplished without any consideration to anything, and any driver that drives like that is a bad driver...

So you think Igbos did not support Buhari because of ethnicity but they supported Yaradua and supported Atiku for presidency...

That's just shows you that you've failed in your entire analysis....
