The way I'm seeing things, it appears both Dangote and NNPC are playing a game.

It is obvious if Dangote decides to sell PMS at its actual cost, it will be above N1,000 because sometimes around July it was reported by major media outfit that the landing cost of PMS is around N1,117(And naira has since slumped against dollar after that time, so the landing cost as at today will be higher)

Now here is the issue: If Dangote announces PMS is let's say N980(Let's say the cost of shipping is no longer in the equation since the PMS is being refined in Nigeria) ; Nigerians will shout and call Dangote a thief. Nigerians will now see the reality that Dangote refinery will not make PMS cheaper. This will put Dangote in bad light before Nigerians.

So, Dangote wants NNPC to be the one to announce the price knowing fully well that NNPC has two options:

1. NNPC announces a price lower than the actual cost and they pay him under-recovery/subsidy (whatever name they decide to call it this time) or

2. NNPC announce the actual price, and the people abuse NNPC of being the ones increasing the price of PMS

Let's not forget that NNPC is still very much interested in importing PMS and still continue to do their under-recovery arrangement.

I may be wrong, but from where I stand it appears both parties are playing a game.

It felt like hitting a weekend jackpot buying fuel without spending 2 minutes on queue . 🤦‍♂️. Now it’s a source of joy/flex that one buys fuel at the official pump price without queue

Now seeing an NNPC with just about 8 cars being attended to at 4 pumps selling for 855 felt like I was the luckiest man in Nigeria 🤦‍♂️

From Itsrm and Elder’s testimony it appears Rivers people are so used to buying fuel higher than people in Lagos and Abuja. Cos I don’t really understand why people over there have never really made noise about the cost of fuel per liter in that area over time . Rivers normally should be amongst states that should be buying fuel cheapest sef

First of all
Awareness should be done across the country
CNG can be safe but the accident is very severe
Unless they are targeting selected people and class cNG might not stay long

.....NNPCL will start lifting PMS from DRL right from tomorrow, rest dealers - major Marketers and independent Marketers will be buying from NNPCL. This is applicable to PMS only, everyone can buy AGO directly from DRL.

Hopefully, FG will find means to reduce the price, since all transactions gonna be in Naira. Prosperity is closer.

For transporters to use cng, there has to be a complete working network across the country. This is doubly important as it is easier to convert large vehicles to cng.

Then again the fg seems to be focusing on cng as alternative to petrol not petrol and diesel
