I really don't understand why they drive recklessly.

You know that Ikot Anwantim Ravine just before the Navy reference Hospital? Imoke's orderlies nearly sent me to the great beyond when they swerved me violently into that path, my survival was an absolute miracle. It taught me a lesson however. I wouldn't be caught dead near any governmental convoy

In the end, nothing would come out of it.

Nobody would be responsible.

It's just so sad. Someone left his house in the morning, only to be killed because someone else decided to be stupid.

If they were rushing to give good governance, the way they rush to speed on highways, maybe Nigeria would be better a little.

Overzealous security operatives. They should call them to order...

Obaseki don open floor

https://www.nairaland.com/8213411/edo-guber-election-do-or-die-affair
It's sad our elections have not evolved past all of this, elections have gone worse since the APC took over. The only party that benefits from violence or an outright rape of the system in this Edo election is the APC. With violent election riggers like Wike and Oshiomhole on ground, I understand why Obaseki feels the need to show he can match their madness.

The election is just to fulfil all righteousness. The Judiciary has brought us to this point where all they do is ratify whatever INEC has declared.

Whatever you have to do, do and get INEC declare you as the winner. That's the motto of political parties now.

Obaseki is being very very foolish. He has no immunity after he exits. HE IS ON RECORD CALLING FOR VIOLENCE. He is on record rejecting to participate in a symbolic commitment to peaceful elections.

He has given apc everything they need to pin the fallout violent elections on him and use him as an international scapegoat.

Peter obi and Atiku kept quiet during the calls for demonstrations because they did not want to be tied to the fallout. With the Russian angle, it was a very very wise move.

Obaseki does not have any sense. Let your foot soldiers make noise so you can have deniability.

As for Theflint1 , he is hiding away in lagos and cheering Obaseki on. The sacrifice of his compatriots in edo is a risk he is willing to take for the homeland that does not pay his bills.

The elections should normally be peaceful, but APC has been threatening to subvert the process... Oshiomhole through his control of the most violent thugs in the state, and Wike from his interview hinting the process will be subverted via his cousin who's REC.

Nobody will be sacrificed, the elections will be peaceful, and if there's any violence it'd be from the APC.

Signing peace pledge hasn't stopped politicians from doing whatever they want come election day. I'm sure Wike and Yahaya Bello's geng signed peace pledge in the buildup to 2023, didn't stop them from rigging blatantly, or harvesting roads.

It is pdp saying elections will be do or die while you cheer them on from the safety of Lagos.

Actual people based in edo are worried for their safety.

The less said about the formerly wicked wike, the former scourge of apc and beheader of treacherous apc stalwarts in Port Harcourt, the better.

Never seen a gubernatorial election as dramatic and chaotic as this,it all stem from Tilumbu promising to give back power to Edo APC....Every blood shed in Edo state is in the hands of tinubu and apc

They're aware of this, but would pretend they don't know the source of this drama.

An election that should have been relatively easy for them, they served themselves an L by choosing to give their ticket to a dunce and now are forced to use violence to foist the man.

£350k for 5 trips

That's about £70k per trip

Depending on if private jets are hired as I assume they would, that is not a lavish amount

The first question is why is the First Lady of an impoverished country going on 5 foreign trips in 3 months, on taxpayers’ money.
