i dont believe it a coincidence, as at then a chess game was on and they came with that price to box Dangote in the sense that, Dangote determining is price will be centered around the N897

Did dangote not fix price for his diesel, however its not possible for dangote not to have a price for his fuel, as long as its not free Nnpc is buying it at a "price"

Nnpc dont just want Nigerians to know the true price, so they can keep milking the nation dry, they might even claim they are subsidizing dangote fuel for us
.
You didn't answer the questions I asked.

If nnpc 897 is not the price nnpc will sell dangote fuel, how then do you still claim nnpc announced 897 to box dangote?

How should dangote fix price for his fuel when he is not selling to retail marketers and nnpc has hijacked that responsibility?

Have you mounted your pressure on dangote?

Why not mount your pressure on nnpc that is a government agency but has decided to work against Nigerians?

How does that answer the following questions?

1. What is the import duty being paid or better still how much is it?

2. What do you mean by "minimal"?

3.Is there "minimal" import duty?
1. Send a mail to Nigerian customs complaint mail..and make inquires about the amount to be paid.
2. Oo sorry I shouldn’t use the word “minimal”..the import duty is 10%

Downstream NNPC doesn't exist anymore. It's now Tinubu's OVH monopolizing the market and causing this scarcity. NNPC has been secretly dashed transferred to OVH under the guise of acquisition.
whether downstream or OVH .. its all under Tinubu, name is not the problem the common factors are the problem

Nnpc has never given itself to Nigerians, in fact they don't work for us, NNPC is like a brothel in service to the govt of the day Tinubu just some personalization

Nigerian will be finished without subsidy

you see that "resilience" bullshit Nigerians carry for head we seriously need to trash it to hell, we need to stand up to this govt, agitate, protest and hold our grounds

Nigeria is too divided for any meaningful protest

it's IPMAN, the real enemy of Nigeria that tinubu wants to get rid of finally. In another 1 year you'll all be thanking him once those fools (IPMAN)have been taken care of the forces of demand and supply will come into play.if petrol is readily available for 6 months there's no way the price will not crash. Using naira value to supply the crude is a master stroke for 2 reasons 1.the price of petrol will no longer be affected by the dollar, 2.nnpc will finally become an income generating venture because money will start coming in everyday from October 1.They can now list on the stock exchange and start selling shares.
How is IPMAN the real enemy of Nigeria? They've been marginalised by the market monopoly caused NNPC OVH for over a year plus. What's the effect of IPMAN stations not selling? Crazy fuel queues everywhere. I know a couple of IPMAN stations that have totally shut down. What stops NNPC(OVH) from making the product available to them at affordable rates? Major marketers cannot single handedly service our population, let things revert back to the way it was when IPMAN stations could get fuel from govt depots, also when the price variance between govt and private depots wasn't so wide.

NNPCL will buy all the petrol from Dangote and in turn sell to retailers. I suspect NNPCL will do under recovery of cost aka subsidy so the PMS cost will not be over the roof.
you get sense. Nnpc will sell to retailers at a price that won't be too high on the side of the people. That's definitely subsidy, but in a different way that makes the people enjoy its dividends. Not that some people would take subsidy from the government, and still go ahead to divert PMS to other African countries to make more money, while the people sleep and wake up at the filling stations. I may not be correct sha. But fingers crossed.

You are on point on this......the subsidy removal and the naira devaluation were 2 very hard pills to swallow at once.....you could have removed subsidy and use that differential to defend the naira till the economy is able to overcome the shock of the subsidy removal.

If the naira was still as it was pre devaluation....fuel prices wouldn't still exceed 550 to 600 max.

Nigeria -- a nation of middlemen whose only effect is to make things more expensive for the end buyer, estate agents, car sales agents, land purchase agents, now petrol selling agents. A middle man is an unproductive person who wants to feed off both producer and consumer

Your claims are quite preposterous....NNPCL has a board that has been in place long before now and it's public knowledge who the members are.....ovh was bought over by NNPCL and not the other way round.....ovh now ceases to exist because NNPCL has swallowed them up....I don't understand your inference that public assets are being transferred to private hands.....pls kindly get your facts right.

Oga do your findings. Why did they transfer NNPC Retails assets to OVH, dissolve NNPC retail on CAC, then changed the name of OVH on CAC to NNPC retail? I need solid evidence to counter my claims.

Meanwhile NNPCL is the name of the corporation. NNPC Retail is(used to be) the subsidiary that has been fraudulently handed over to Tinubu's OVH.

Why should NNPC be the sole distributor of petrol from a private refinery of someone you once accused of monopoly in Nigeria, for a product you claim to be fully deregulated?

This whole NNPC-DANGOTE rigmarole raises a lot of doubts, on the intent of this administration in providing affordable petrol to Nigerians.

I think both NNPC and DANGOTE are looking for an exploitative advantage. cry
What they are doing is called SWAP. Give me crude and I give you petrol. Nothing more nothing less. NNPC cannot allow anyone else to benefit from its crude which it will sell to Dangote at a low price so that you and I can buy at a low price.

Federal Govt want to continue subsidy through NNPC. Dey don't want to pay the subsidy directly to Dangote if not Dangote will become the richest man in the world within 2 years.....

Let FG start subsidy back abeg. Atleast fuel at 500naira/liter

N897 is the existing price for imported pms, how in the world does it make sense imported and local product would sell for the same price ... abi we dont just like doing things with sense in this country
Welcome to Nigeria.

So you need to be told this before you understand that NNPC has cornered Nigerians and they will continue to make profits.

If Dangote was given a free hand to sell to any marketer of his choice, Nigerians will be buying fuel at 500 naira per litre.

They know what they are doing.

If PMS becomes available and affordable, lets say 450naira per litre, watch how the Economy will turn around.
But, these deadly Politicians won't allow that to happen.

You drill our oil and supply to DR, he refines take a little percentage to offset cost, then return the rest back to NNPC.

NNPC, in turn sells at moderate price to Nigerians.

This isn't a rocket science, na greed and wickedness the cause am.

The acquisition of NNPC retail that you are referring to was done sept 2022 before tinubu became president.

OVH is a tripartite partnership between 3 companies......oando, vitol and Helios, oando on the other hand which everyone is referring to as tinubu's interest has divested from ovh since 2019.

NNPC retail was never wound up when handed over to ovh,the controlling stake was still being held by NNPCL and has now been reverted back to NNPC retail as we speak.

The media outfit which you have quoted had already come out to retract their earlier publication on the matter inferring that tinubu with his oando- which in itself is outlandish ,was acquiring NNPC retail and premium times
already set the records straight......pls kindly go check the facts again and understand how takeovers and mergers work.

I except any refutation of my claims to come attached with links and/or screenshots. Send me the links of the publication refuting their earlier publication.

Meanwhile, a simple check of the CAC website will reveal the truth of the matter.

NNPC Retail CAC number-826223 ; status- Dissolved

OVH CAC Number- 655791; Status- Active

Now grab your phone/laptop. Go to https://search.cac.gov.ng/list and input 655791. Come back to the result and give ma an explanation of how OVH became NNPC Retail on CAC.

*Modified*

For whatever reasons I can't upload screenshots again via phone and laptop undecided. You can search the 2 CAC numbers I sent to verify.

NNPC still needs some free money... And the only source for now is from Nigerians through Dangote refinery. That's why they keep saying... "for now". When they have amassed enough funds, then they can let go and let Dangote be, maybe when the NNPCL refineries come on stream too.

Just like #EndSars protest was led to the end of SARS, we need to have an #EndNNPC protest to really end NNPC.

It's like they will heavily subsidies that Dangote's Fuel because it's more costly and superior to the imported ones so Nigerians won't be able to afford it.

After the US election, depending on who might win then Nigeria will take bold steps in doing anything even if it means making policies that's existential threat to over 3 over 4 of the population.

We all should declare freedom now!
