DSS ‘Arrests’ Baze Varsity Lecturer Over #EndBadGovernance Protest

The Department of State Services (DSS) has been accused of arresting a University Lecturer, Dr. Abubakar Alkali, over his alleged support for the recent #EndBadGovernance protest, which rocked parts of the country in August.

LEADERSHIP reports that a 10-day nationwide anti-hunger and hardship protest, which later transmuted to #EndBadGovernance Movement, took place between August 1 and 10.

While the protesters were protected in some parts of the country, security operatives cracked down on them in other parts while many others were arrested and thereafter arraigned in court for various offences.

According to an Abuja-based lawyer, Barrister Deji Adeyanju, on Saturday, he said Dr. Alkali, a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Petroleum & Gas Engineering at the Baze University in Abuja, was allegedly abducted by DSS operatives three weeks ago and taken to Sokoto State, for supporting the #EndBadGovernance protest.

“He has been in custody since then,” Adeyanju added in message sent to LEADERSHIP on Saturday night.

A text message sent to DSS hotline for confirmation was unanswered at press time as the Secret Police organisation has no official spokesperson currently.

I am waiting for the English word Prof. Gbajue Soyinka will use to describe this act of intimidation.

Tinubu sponsored, funded and organised protests and civil disobedience against the Goodluck Jonathan government, and he was not arrested or prosecuted.

But today, under his regime, engaging in protests is regarded as treason.

Tinubu is the modern day Adolf Hitler and Idi Amin Dada

shocked Soyinka's past experience in a wasted effort has taught him a lot of lesson so much that silence is wisdom.

Baze university has association with lp vice candidate! Dss are doing top notch jobs these days! The same baze chancellor was insulting the president the other day, just because he failed to move on with election loss! The next steps is for them to hack most of obi and his nuisances twitter page and start major arrest! They contributed majorly to the last protest!

Many of the good things Nigerians are enjoying today were fought for by these men and other great Nigerians.
He's efforts were not wasted, a lot of things changed and he attracted the international community to the situations in the country.
The man is 90 years old now, even those in their 50s and 60s are not even strong enough.
He's too old to be fighting for some ungrateful youths who keep defending corrupt politicians and the oppressors of the masses.
Fuel is close to N1000 and everyone is catching cruise.
Tell me presently in Nigeria, who can match up with Wole and other great activists?
During GEJ era life was sweet, even with the alleged corruption going on then things were better.
But now tribalism and religious belief won't allow certain people to be vocal. They have all lost their voices, but previously they could make noise.
That's to show you the wicked mindset of some people.
They don't care. How can a country grow with such selfish mindset?

The evil days of abacha are here again.

After complaining, they would still go to APC rally to collect 5k and suffer for 4 years

Then I was wondering why Tinubu was never arrested. I can't as a. President tolerate what Tinubu did back then, to me it's a sign of weak leadership then. It seems PBAT knows how to use power better
