So na dollars dem sell am last last

Dangote will only sell in Naira the equivalent of the Naira value of the crude NNPC sells to him. Anything above that na dollars straight. If no be dollars, he will be heading straight to CBN to exchange it the next morning. Nobody exposes himself to foreign exchange risk willingly.

There are people who make pap for babies. They use various ingredients with good nutritional value. You can find one and buy or find someone to make for you. It's usually much cheaper and better than custard.

The result is superb.

It's not just Dangote, they're all playing the same game. It's part of the negotiations.

Dangote wants to get an easy foothold in the market and it is trying to create a siege mentality in order to get the public on its side (kind of like what Jose Mourinho used to do at Chelsea - "Everybody is against us" ). It wants to knock out the importers and get the masses on its side.

Subsidy is a big problem for the government, but the masses always rebel anytime the government wants to remove it.

Dangote on his part cannot afford to sell his product below cost price.

So Dangote does not want to announce the price of its petrol. It wants government to announce the price and decide if it will subsidise it.

Government wants Dangote to announce the price so that people will see the correct price of the petrol. If Dangote announces the price and it is high, then the masses will blame Dangote (he is greedy, he is a monopolist, etc). In this way government can completely remove subsidy and people will blame Dangote.

Dangote wants government to announce the price, decide whether it will subsidise it and take the blame.

The marketers are getting impatient. They want to know the price so that they can plan.

Of course the marketers won't subsidise petrol. They are businessmen, not government or charity.

Dangote said that NNPC will be the sole buyer, so that NNPC can decide if it will subsidise the price.

NNPC said that it won't be the sole buyer and anybody can buy petrol from Dangote.

I repeat, the marketers will not subsidise petrol. Only government/NNPC can subsidise petrol.

So you see, all of them are engaged in the game of trying to sway emotions.
the above sums the situation

if a dollar is n1600, then the market price of a lire of petrol is from n1900 to n 2300
so there is a shortfall of n1050 to 1450 / litre, since subsidy is not gone

......DGL is simply saying we got the [old] crude oil in dollars hence you can't expect us to run at loss. Wait till October 1st before the public know agreed price between FG and the Refinery.

The Agreement they have with FG [Naira to Naira Transactions] will commence on October 1st, hence a new price should be expected, hopefully cheaper and affordable [though won't be below ₦500].

NNPCL wanted to serve DGL to Nigerians on a berbecue grill, but they quickly come out to rescue themselves from getting roasted.

The Game is the game - some big men in Oil Industry ain't happy with Dangote Refinery cos one man's food is another man's poison.

Nigeria will be great and soon by God's willing.

I doubt there will be any significant difference in price even with the Naira to naira transaction. You can't be complaining of fuel subsidy and then subsidise dollar/crude to Dangote. What they will end up doing is replacing one subsidy with another.

Fingers crossed all the same. If they find a way to sell it a little higher than 500, that will be great. I just don't see it happening.

.....I am kinda convinced it wil be significantly reduced. I really don't care about the arrangement, rather want Nigerians to breathe again.

Na we get the crude oil, even if we dash DGL free to process and sell to Nigerians at far cheaper rate, who go hold us?! OPEC?! LOL!

True, he's probably not at fault, but you'd think guys choosing to do something like that would at least take some basic precaution, especially with the ton of space they have available to them.

It is not going to be reduced. That is also why the govt is pushing alternatives. As long as there is a subsidy where we are paying significantly less than international rate for petrol we are going to continue having scarcity. Because it will be more profitable to move the product to the border and fk everyone else. I don hammer.
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 11:51pm On Sep 15, 2024
Is it true that Tinubu didn't sign the peace accord in 2023?

I doubt Bishop Kukah has anything to gain by lying.

.....nope! It ain't subsidy. Imagine I have a palm trees farm, and in the same village you have a processing plant.

If I decide to sell to you at cheaper price, with an agreement that you will sell back to the community also at cheaper rate - is that subsidy?!

The answer is NO, its rather called PRICE CONTROL, its a sinple economic policy bruh. LOL!

That’s not middle of the road kankan, that’s Eko Atlantic City .

Honestly dem supposed arrest those two ediots doing the yeye racing inside Eko Atlantic . It’s a private premises .

There’s no justification for them to be racing at that high speed within that space . If they weren’t racing recklessly they would’ve seen the dodge whether it was faulty or was parked in the middle of the road .

This is exactly my thought which I expressed few days ago.

It’s obvious both Dangote and NNPC are going aura for aura , propaganda for propaganda and debunking for debunking .

One thing is sure at the end of the day, the common man will never get to feel the positives of having a local refining capacity ; at least not in the nearest foreseeable future .

It’s all funny that instead of NNPC focusing on getting their own PHC refinery working ASAP, they are more focused on Dangote’s . The way they are even going about this Dangote refinery sef, it’s looking more like that NNPC refinery may not work this year or next year . Their body language is not matching the useless promises of commencement of operation of PHC refinery .
