Ex-Military Personnel Arrested In Bauchi For Allegedly Defrauding Job Seekers by NaijaCover(op): 6:16am On Sep 19, 2024
The Bauchi State Police Command has apprehended a dismissed military officer, Lance Corporal Aliyu Adamu, for allegedly defrauding three job applicants.

According to the Spokesman of the Command, SP Ahmed Wakili, in a statement issued on Wednesday, the suspect, who hails from Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, was arrested for impersonation, cheating, criminal misappropriation, and criminal breach of trust.

Wakili explained that the arrest was made by officers attached to the ‘B’ Divisional Police Headquarters after complaints were lodged by three victims who claimed that Adamu had collected N200,000 from them, promising to secure employment for them in the Nigerian Army.

Despite the payment, the applicants were never invited to the Nigerian Army Depot for training, as promised.

Upon arrest, Adamu confessed that he had been dismissed from the Nigerian Army a few months earlier for being absent without leave for a year.

He also admitted to using the money for personal expenses.

The Command, therefore, urged the public to remain cautious and report individuals offering fraudulent job opportunities.

The Command also assured that Adamu will face prosecution after the investigation is concluded.

An unfortunate Grace to Grass story....

How have the mighty fallen ?

A once respected military personnel, now in police custody and possibly heading to prison..

"Village people" are surely still on his case.

They would not rest until this guy lands in Jail.

Dismissing any military or paramilitary persons is a threat to the society.

Most end up armed criminals.

Either you jail them or you kpai them, don't send them jobless into the society

Then you shouldn't call it chicken change.

It is a tiny amount to you doesn't make it tiny to others, they toiled day and night with their blood and sweat to make that money

Is that why u suddenly turn into an online beggar over night ?
Simply because I issued that statement doesn't mean you should quote me to begg for money.
. Wen I said its chicken change I didnt mean the persons who paid the fraudulent guy but was referring to the fraud guy why mess up ur self with such paltry sum
Then u just jump into my comment to ask for daily bread. Smh
U are able bodied man ,why did u resort to online begging?

Oga I wasn't asking for daily bread, neither did I send any account number to you which I wouldn't have done as everybody claim to be dangote online. For the record, I was just being playful.

The fund is paltry to you doesn't mean it was paltry to the fraudster and the victims. Probably to you, his thievery would have been justified if he stole in millions or billions.
A thief is a thief whether na Maggie him thief or na billions, they are both thieves. He stole according to his level. Leave him with a larger sum as well and he will steal it. Na small small e go graduate to kidnapping begin ask of millions in ransom since he has experience with handling arms.
