Nigerians Hungry, Angry – Makinde by treesun(op): 10:26am On Sep 19, 2024
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has declared that times are hard and Nigerians are currently hungry and angry.

Makinde made this declaration on Wednesday while performing the ground-breaking ceremony for the upgrading of Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport, Alakia, Ibadan, to international standards.

The governor, while addressing the gathering, said that his government will not implement policies that will increase the hardship the citizens are facing currently.

Makinde affirmed that his government had paid due compensation to landowners in Ajia who lost their property to the new Air Force Base being constructed in the area.

He said: “We took an important decision yesterday at the Executive Council Meeting. We know times are hard and Nigerians are hungry and angry. But I hope this will not boil over. But in Oyo State, we have control over what we can do here.

“I can see that the House has passed the Presumptive Tax Bill. Yes, it came from us because if we need to expand the economy, we need to generate money. I will sign it into law but we will not implement it for now.

“Let me especially thank the members of the committee who worked on the project in the last six weeks to make it possible for the official groundbreaking ceremony to take place today.

“Some people do not think that upgrading this airport at this time is a good idea, but the decision to upgrade this airport to international standard is based on data and logic. In the next twelve months, this project will be delivered. I will push the envelope.

“This airport will connect Oyo State to a global market. It will improve ease of doing business, bringing investments into agribusiness, manufacturing and technology sectors and positioning Ibadan as a true regional business hub.”

According to him, it is a strategic investment that includes a first and second phase that will culminate in the upgrading of the airport, the runway, airfield lighting, terminal and other critical facilities.

All our Leaders only speaks when it favours them. Except for political advancement you can never hear they fight for the poor Masses
Makinde is speaking, appreciate him for that.

Unlike other E-diots in the opposition parties singing the praises of Tinubu because of tribal sentiments and to get covered for their corrupt practice.

Nigeria is yet to produce a true leader. For now, the people need to fend for themselves.

Governors are always crying out to the FG as if they are also helpless in any way

Thing is, He, as a Governor should be able to ease his people anyhow he can, especially since he also gets an allocation from the FG every month

Whiners should get a life...Its beginning to sound like a sour song now

I officially welcome you all to the Federal Republic of Rice! No shigbinshigbin!

The 1200 bags of rice for each minister will get to you only if you're a card-carrying member of APC. Abi you think say Wike go share rice give Fubara boys? Or you think Tunji-Ojo will jump his party members in APC and give rice to PDP supporters?
So, if you're not an APC card member or supporter, you're gonna have to starve!

Tinubu has taken governance and partisanship to a whole new demonic level!

Nigerians are hungry? Really?

I thought it's Peter Obi and Obidients that are hungry and angry because of the lessons they're being taught.

Re: Nigerians Hungry, Angry – Makinde by MT:
Governor Makinde should shut up.

This is the man who proceeded on leave few days to the start of a protest (to escape the wrath of Oyo State people).

Which Commander abandons his troops at the warfront?

Oyo State people are lamenting. What has he done with the Oyo State Monthly allocations. All Oyo State lands have been sold to private entities. When Architects protested, he impounded their cars and got them towed to the secreatriat.

This a man that setup committee to review the Judgement of the Supreme Court over Local Government. What an effrontery!. He was so pained and kept lamenting about the judgement. He never wanted autonomy for the Local Government.

Makinde should focus on his state, rather than trying hard to seem he is on the side of the people.

He is part of the problem.

The masses are hungry while the politicians are living large.

My advice to Nigerians, don't dull yourself. Is either you relocate to a better country or Join politics and be a dirty politician like Nigerian politicians.
Re: Nigerians Hungry, Angry – Makinde by Softmirror:
Somebody should please ask this man how much he disburses to the Local Governments in Oyo State from the federal government allocation.

When I read about it from a reliable source. I was so surprise. undecided

Buhari was the worst president in the history of Africa but was 100 million times better than tinubu. Atleast buhari had few things under his control. Tinubu does not even know he's the president of Nigeria,, he thinks everything is drugs and cocaine.
Re: Nigerians Hungry, Angry – Makinde by Brendaniel:
So Tinubu whom his people rated the best Lagos state governor has proven Buhari and Jonathan are better than him...

When I talk about the Lagos scam, his supporters don't understand, if only they know what the Lagos scam is they won't even compare Ikpeazu and Tinubu not to talk of Peter Obi, I told them the Lagos scam will be exposed that it was only a matter of time....
