It is greediness that's the problem of private business owners in Nigeria. If you make profit of say 20k daily for 26days, you'll have 520k. If you pay your sales boy 70k and maybe spend extra 100k for other monthly costs and reinvest 100k, you'll have 250k left.

Mind you, I am just being modest with figures here because I know that many businesses generate more profits than I stated above.

For you to make a 20k profit, you may have to generate N100,000-200,000 per day. If you are into Fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), the margin is even smaller as you may have to make a total sales of about 400,000 to gain a N20,000 profit.

It is an inadequate understanding of how the economy works that makes people believe they can not pay as employers. There is no kind of job existing in Nigeria that does not exist in high income countries and when minimum wage is imposed, every employer pay in those countries. The market will take care of everything

Inflation is not caused by wage increase. It is caused by the value of the currency dropping as a result of money printing by government. When you print money too much, prices will rise but price can also rise or fall gradually as a result of gradual increase or decrease in cost of production. However the recent price increase in Nigeria is inflation meaning a mass printing of the naira. If money is low in circulation or scarce, prices of goods will be automatically low.
