This is how we killed the tyre industry in Nigeria that lead to the closures and exit of Michelin and Dunlop factories leading to losses of hundreds of thousands of jobs. How do we import what we can produce locally.

Those others importing, why can't they set up their own refineries and create competition plus employment.l? Diesel was being sold for N1200, at a time, it was N1440, it is something I buy everyday so I am sure of its pricing. Kerosene was sold for around the same price. These two should show you that all along pms ought to cost around the same price if not for the subsidy on it. What makes the price goes up is removal of subsidy and not Dangote. Yes, it can be argued that it is necessary that the pms market is deregulated if the local refining is to be encouraged. This has always being a known fact but Tinubu and his cronies beguiled you gullible Nigerians into rejecting that fact during Jonathan era when it could have been less painful because they wanted power at all cost not minding how it would hurt Nigerians. Now the same demons have ascended power and came back with the truth about subsidy punching it down the throats of those who once hailed them for deceiving them, everyone is crying.
You guys should praise and not demonise Dangite for having courage to open refinery, he has done something which it the long run will work to the advantage of all. You should rather demonise Tinubu and apc who oppress you but pretend to be your friend. They are the real enemies you have, not Dangote. Let the regulatory agents do what is right and stop corruption.

Greedy people.

The choice belongs to the citizens on who to purchase from and that it what competition is all about. We have been using the so called dirty fuel for uncountable years with no stories. Even Dangote himself was using the same dirty petrol until he started his own refiniery.

It is our choice who and where to buy from. It is also the business of the marketers where they source their foreign currency from.

Monopoly is always the name of the game for Dangote. Up till now he has been having this back and forth with NNPCL, deceiving themselves. Their fear is that petrol price might be cheaper and therefore eliminate their greedy profit.

Dangote s antecedents in the cement sector show he cannot be trusted on the long run. He is à greedy businessman that wants total control of all critical sectors of the economy. This is not good for other businesses who wants to have a share of the market.

I think some of us don't understand the story. Dangote and Co said that the price of pms was intentionally jerked up definitely by fg so that importers can compete with Dangote. That means that Dangote pms was cheaper but they fg hid the price from the masses, which they later inflated. Now, the marketers will need dollar possibly from cbn to import fuel. This will further degrade our Naira. Dangote local products brings in more forex when exported. So, which is better.
Let us fear God and try to say the truth. We have all been agitating for local production and less dependence on imported goods yet the selfish ones among us want to kill a local industry. Ę beru Olorun ooooh.

Good quality fuel vs poor substandard imported fuel!

There won't be any monopoly! Many other refineries are coming up for example the BUA refinery of 200,000bpd! Too many people are just jealous of Dangote!

FG should ban anything at all that can be produced locally from being imported.

This was how he was calling other cements inferior when he launched his 3X cement. Eventually, it was a all a ruse to wipe out competitors.

He wants Mobil, Total other International oil companies to be subservient to him. The nonsense he did to Lafarge, let him try it with those ones and he will see the results.

Nigeria gave Dangote unlimited FX lower than market rates to build that refinery. It is better that the refinery packs up instead of Nigerians to suffer from his unlimited greed.

If he's not careful, those ones will undercut him so bad that he will sell his refinery to those iron condemn boys.
