adioolayi:We all supported Dangote at the beginning of his fracas with FG but now it’s obvious he a dirty business man who only cares about profit and how to monopolize any business he found himself. Let him crash his price if he doesn’t want importation Atleast there is no landing cost, taxes or whatever cost. What happened to cement industry must not happen to oil industry We can’t be at the mercy of one greedy man |

Lifestone:The imported fuel is what Dangote used to build his business empire. That's what powered all his trucks and machines. It is foolishness to come and say the fuel is this and that. That's the nonsense they were using to market his 3X cement some years ago. No one is buying that rubbish now. |

Dangote na certified self centered man. He really messed with hope of Nigerians by selling fuel at #900 per litre. Anything that will bring down the price of fuel is a welcome development. |

KaLuCh:What a dumb accusation of him being a monopolist, this marketers are shylocks who continually imported substandard fuel for years and depleted and pressured our currency with their enormous demands for dollar which eventually left our naira devalued and in tatters today, so between having a patriotic Dangote as a monopolist and the mindless cabals who have raped us for years which should we prefer |

Wickedfact:Instead of you to clamour for proper regulation, you are calling for the death of a company employing thousands. Those others importing, why can't they set up their own refineries and create competition plus employment.l? If Dangote refinery dies and importation continues, the price will still go up and people without jobs will end up dying the postponed death. I guess it is you that needs proper education and not me. Stop using emotion, but logic to argue. |

I don't know why local refiners are jittery about marketers importing fuel if their price is competitive, we've been buying the imported petrol for decades with virtually no issues with the quality, why is it that it's now that they start refining they are telling us imported fuel are of low quality? If Dangote Refinery is offering a good price far cheaper than imported ones, there's no way any marketer will want to import the product. But I still doubt this story of marketers bringing in petrol from abroad as NNPC is still subsidizing petrol, Diesel is around 1,150 in Lagos while petrol is being sold as low as 858. And if petrol is being sold much cheaper than diesel, it shows there's a kind of subsidy on pms. I don't think it will be profitable for marketers to import petrol as the pms market isn't fully deregulated as NNPC is still calling the shots |

Wickedfact:And you conveniently left out how your importations killed Dunlop and Michelin. |
| Re: Dangote Officials, Refiners Tackle Marketers Over Imported PMS by breezeng: 6:43am On Sep 20, 2024 |
I think some of us don't understand the story. Dangote and Co said that the price of pms was intentionally jerked up definitely by fg so that importers can compete with Dangote. That means that Dangote pms was cheaper but they fg hid the price from the masses, which they later inflated. Now, the marketers will need dollar possibly from cbn to import fuel. This will further degrade our Naira. Dangote local products brings in more forex when exported. So, which is better. Let us fear God and try to say the truth. We have all been agitating for local production and less dependence on imported goods yet the selfish ones among us want to kill a local industry. Ę beru Olorun ooooh. |

Wickedfact:Diesel was being sold for N1200, at a time, it was N1440, it is something I buy everyday so I am sure of its pricing. Kerosene was sold for around the same price. These two should show you that all along pms ought to cost around the same price if not for the subsidy on it. What makes the price goes up is removal of subsidy and not Dangote. Yes, it can be argued that it is necessary that the pms market is deregulated if the local refining is to be encouraged. This has always being a known fact but Tinubu and his cronies beguiled you gullible Nigerians into rejecting that fact during Jonathan era when it could have been less painful because they wanted power at all cost not minding how it would hurt Nigerians. Now the same demons have ascended power and came back with the truth about subsidy punching it down the throats of those who once hailed them for deceiving them, everyone is crying. You guys should praise and not demonise Dangite for having courage to open refinery, he has done something which it the long run will work to the advantage of all. You should rather demonise Tinubu and apc who oppress you but pretend to be your friend. They are the real enemies you have, not Dangote. Let the regulatory agents do what is right and stop corruption. |

Satazaa:Fuel was cheaper under d importation cabal, d food you ate last night, n d semo I ate, was Dangote the one who bought it? So wetin concern me concern am? Naira devaluation to get worse under dangote. Before now, nnpc will sell their crude oil in dollar. But now, they r selling in naira to Dangote leading to even more useless naira in d economy |

Flier:You people are d ones surprised. I was listening to Jimi Disu, baba was almost moved to tears seeing how Dangote n the other cronies played Nigerians. I was just shaking my head, so you mean none of you knew that fuel will be out of reach under dangote n he will justify it by saying his own fuel is chosen? |
| Re: Dangote Officials, Refiners Tackle Marketers Over Imported PMS by RealTrump: 6:53am On Sep 20, 2024 |
tete7000:Dangote's high fuel cost will ruin hundreds of thousands of businesses n kill millions of jobs. Are these businesses more inferior to his refinery business? All of us should get poor because of one man? |
| Re: Dangote Officials, Refiners Tackle Marketers Over Imported PMS by themanderon: 6:53am On Sep 20, 2024 |
Greed and avarice is all I see here. If Dangote doesn't want people to import fuel then let him reduce his outrageous prices. He simply wants Monopoly that's why he is making all these noise. If care is not taken he will sell PMS to us at the rate of 5000naira per liter. Let everyone source the product from anywhere possible. It will help crash the prices as the more the merrier. Dangote wants what he is doing in the cement sector to continue where he can squeeze out competitors for a commodity he is getting the raw materials locally yet the price is out of this world. The sleaze going on in this oil sector is unimaginable. Nigerians are being taken for a ride. |

| Re: Dangote Officials, Refiners Tackle Marketers Over Imported PMS by themanderon: 6:59am On Sep 20, 2024 |
tete7000:Dangote s antecedents in the cement sector show he cannot be trusted on the long run. He is à greedy businessman that wants total control of all critical sectors of the economy. This is not good for other businesses who wants to have a share of the market. |

Lifestone:You have a very good point. Govt should force those useless importers to come together and build a refinery and also encourage foreign investments into refining of oil Importation will not help, it will kill dangote and we will go back to the full SUBSIDY that was removed again |

breezeng:Poor narrative you gave here. One sided and myopic narrative. If it is sure for Dangote Refinery that , the Price quoted by the NNPCL was not the price the coy sold to NNPCL, let them come out openly and tell Nigerians the exact price the PMS was sold to NNPCL by Dangote Refinery... Dangote Refinery like any of the other coys in the group hate competition. Dangote Refinery wants total control of the oil sector which will not be in the interest of the Nigerians in the Long run. Why do you think that, if Dangote refuses to supply cements just for 2 weeks, the price of cements will go up immediately? This is because, Dangote Cements supply more than half of the cements in the country. Let him compete with the importers. The choice lies in the hands of the consumers. |

AntiChristian:If you understand Dangote you will understand how he controls the cement industry by blackmailing other importers. I can share you various links of where he criticised importers of cement those days for importing inferior cement into the country. Nigerians fell for it, they ban importation of cement and made Dangote the sole supplier of cement. Una eyes go soon clear when they stop marketers from importing |
| Re: Dangote Officials, Refiners Tackle Marketers Over Imported PMS by Christlike01: 7:30am On Sep 20, 2024 |
Dangote and his refinery will face serious problems if the expectations of Nigerians are not met. Nigerians are not willing to buy Dangote's PMS at a high price; we won't! As it stands, Nigerians won't be concerned even if Dangote's refinery goes up in flames because it is not meeting their expectations in terms of lower prices! You all – NNPCL, Dangote, and the marketers – are criminals, only interested in your selfish gains at the expense of Nigerians. |
| Re: Dangote Officials, Refiners Tackle Marketers Over Imported PMS by Nobody: 7:33am On Sep 20, 2024 |
Why is dangote scared of competition? Is it not the so called low quality oil we have been using all these years? It's not compulsory they must buy from Dangote so he should stop whining and face his business. Let therr be healthy competition. That will even reduce price |

Flier:bros with your mindset you will be a failed businessman, The earlier y'all start realizing that Dangote is a businessman who by calling exploit opportunities to make money legitimately the better for a lot of ignoramuses like your type, he sourced billions from creditors to built the refinery and if you were an investor in that refinery you expect to deploy the fuel as a welfare product to you? Meanwhile your government whom you should channel your endless lamentation to ran aground four of their own refineries only to forcefully position as the sole offtaker of his refinery, isn't that a voodoo economics? |
