Flier:
We all supported Dangote at the beginning of his fracas with FG but now it’s obvious he a dirty business man who only cares about profit and how to monopolize any business he found himself.
Let him crash his price if he doesn’t want importation Atleast there is no landing cost, taxes or whatever cost. What happened to cement industry must not happen to oil industry
We can’t be at the mercy of one greedy man
Take a critical look at NNPC price model of pms from Dangote..
They got it at 0.55 cent and have used exchange rates of #1637...and also included various taxes and transport costs to land at their #950 per litre..

The question is why using such high exchange rate?
Who caused devaluation of Nairahuh
Why not give concession on taxeshuh

All these are what FGN can do something about.

Dangote is a private business man. Government knows how much they sold crude to him and are in the best position to know if he is overpricing.

My point is...it is still the responsibility of President Tinubu and his cabinet to do something...and not Dangote
Re: Dangote Officials, Refiners Tackle Marketers Over Imported PMS by Aseneshii: 8:01am On Sep 20, 2024
Dangote had never monopolize any sectors in Nigeria, the cement industry has more than 10 players competing, it's the same with other sectors, sugar, flour etc. the whole Dangote monopoly cry is just a beef from lazy imposter that want Nigeria to be import dependent because of their business interest.
Is the imported PMS cheaper? If yes the marketer should tell us the price of imported fuel.
Why should we import what we can produce? And what stop marketers from building refineries?
ElevationD:
Greedy people.

The choice belongs to the citizens on who to purchase from and that it what competition is all about. We have been using the so called dirty fuel for uncountable years with no stories. Even Dangote himself was using the same dirty petrol until he started his own refiniery.

It is our choice who and where to buy from. It is also the business of the marketers where they source their foreign currency from.

Monopoly is always the name of the game for Dangote. Up till now he has been having this back and forth with NNPCL, deceiving themselves. Their fear is that petrol price might be cheaper and therefore eliminate their greedy profit.

Yeye people.

Enough of this drama already ! 🤦‍♂️

As a final consumer I don’t give any 4cks about whether it’s imported PMS or locally refined PMS I use.

All we want is to be able to buy PMS at the cheapest rate without having to stay on queue for 5 hours.

If Tinubu had sense , he would’ve sacked this Kyari even before he sacked Emefiele . But then one is not surprised , Kyari is incompetent and so is Tinubu the minister for petroleum .

As for Dangote , we all know he’s looking for a monopoly with all these shalaye he’s doing up and down. He wants a monopoly that doesn’t look like monopoly in the outside but if u look deeply u will see that’s what he’s yearning for.

This talk of Good and bad fuel is dead on arrival Jor. Was Dangote not using the so called bad fuel for years in his business and personal life prior to the commencement of local refining? He should cut the bullshiit, we all know its monopoly he wants.

As for those who say he won’t be the only local refiner so there won’t be monopoly , you clearly don’t know enough about marketing. He’s the first entrant into the market and will be the market leader for years before any other local refiner goes live. He would’ve kept huge chunk of the market to himself so even when the market moves from monopoly to oligopoly , he will still be in a very advantaged position.
Lies!if a new entrant sells pms below his price, they will have d market...his only advantage is he has more products for a hugely demanded products, same with cement he controlled over 70% of d market, even if Bua lower her price his products is drop in d ocean,if people buys all Bua cements in 3hrs with no more in stock for weeks it scarcity will make dangote cement still sells at higher price.

This fuel subsidy cabal are the worst saboteurs of the Nigerian Economy. They are greedy, unpatriotic and the most ruthless set of people ever born in Nigeria.
It's madness for the CBN to give any importer one dollar to import any petroleum product into Nigeria. It will totally bankrupt Nigeria.
We are already earning less dollars as a nation especially now that NNPCL has decided to start selling the crude oil to Dangote in naira, yet some very terrible criminals want to import more petrol into Nigeria.
These importers are very very greedy, some weeks ago they told us the land cost of petrol was1150,https://www.google.com/amp/s/businessday.ng/news/article/petrol-landing-cost-at-n1117-pressures-nnpcs-secret-subsidy/%3famp, check the above article, all of a sudden they want to start importing and selling for the same amount without making a profit.
Asiwaju must tell Nigerians where he belongs,is he on the side of these Terrible thieves called Marketers or he's on the side of Nigerians.
God bless Nigeria.
Why is Dangote always scared of economic competition?
Why does he always have to create monopoly power for his businesses to thrive?
Do you not think it'll be a great danger to you and the economy if Dangote solely controlled the oil sector, same way he did to the Cement industry?
Do you not understand that market forces determine price in a competitive economy, rather than a single individual?
All these are some of the questions you should ask yourself.
Bro, see, Dangote go cry fire and there's nothing the government can do about it at this point because the sector is Deregulated.
Dangote should man up and face the reality that he cannot continue to have his away. A Buhari would have bent the rules for him but I don't see T-bag doing that.

yes as long as imported one is cheaper and mind you, Indians are the majority of staff at dangote refinery

Let the imports continue .and let anyone choose to buy the bad fuel or the good dangote fuel .this is the only way u can force dangote to come out with cheaper prices .

Dangote and his team are mad.

How is it your business the fuel i want to buy?

I have been buying fuel for close to 10yrs now, and it hasn't destroyed my car. but because dangote started producing fuel yesterday, all of a sudden they increased price to over 1k, and want to lecture us on reason we should buy from dangote.

infact thunder fire Dangote

Good quality fuel vs poor substandard imported fuel!

There won't be any monopoly! Many other refineries are coming up for example the BUA refinery of 200,000bpd! Too many people are just jealous of Dangote!

bros with your mindset you will be a failed businessman, The earlier y'all start realizing that Dangote is a businessman who by calling exploit opportunities to make money legitimately the better for a lot of ignoramuses like your type, he sourced billions from creditors to built the refinery and if you were an investor in that refinery you expect to deploy the fuel as a welfare product to you? Meanwhile your government whom you should channel your endless lamentation to ran aground four of their own refineries only to forcefully position as the sole offtaker of his refinery, isn't that a voodoo economics?
I have a successfull business making decent profit but i will never exploit people the way dangote is doing,Let the importation continue then allow him to fight the competitors,he is not paying landing cost or foreign taxes so why would imported be cheaper than locally made? even if its dirty let us continue buying it like that

All what you type doesn't add up or show logic. If marketers import dirty fuel and sell in naira to us where will they get their dollars?
Are they taking the naira we pay to USA to get newly refined PMS?

How is what they import cheaper? Who told you they'll sell cheaper? It's always maximum profit and NNPC controls the flow.
You just want to support continuous sabotaging of Nigerian economy by greedy few

Did you just read the rubbish you wrote, you are accusing a man who built a Refinery of being afraid of Monopoly, the Nigerian Government couldn't repair the Local Refineries for close to 30 years yet you accuse a man who labored to build his Refinery of monopoly.
These same citizens will still accuse the Nigerian Government of unemployment.
U will always get the leaders you deserve,it's the worst sabotage on the Nigerian state for anyone to import a single drop of refined product when we have a Refinery that can produce all we need in Nigeria.
It's an own goal for NNPCL to even give import licence after it has spent billions to repair our dead Refineries.
Seriously Some Nigerians are more dumb than we think they are.
God bless Nigeria

Dangote was using imported fuel for his thousands of trucks, there was no problem then.

Now that he has a refinery, the fuel is now bad. It's his cement playbook again no one is falling for it.

Fuel will keep being imported and nothing he can do about it. If he can't sell at a competitive price, that's his headache.

And you conveniently left out how your importations killed Dunlop and Michelin.
You are comparing Dangote Refinery to Dunlop and Michelin.

First of, there are substitutes to products of both companies. Dangote wants to be the only one. Now, if he's the only one, he can raise prices at his whim and caprice a and nothing anyone can do about it.

Petrol is a security product and Dangote can't be the sole provider.

If you give Dangote monopoly of oil production, he can change the government. All he needs to do is to raise fuel prices 2 weeks to the Presidential election, blame the increase on the increased cost of doing business and the government is in soup.

Thirdly, a single bomb thrown in that refinery can destroy Nigeria's petroleum supply for at least a month. That's the security angle you haven't considered.

Next time, you look at other factors instead of taking a narrow stance on the subject.

I guess you were a teenager when Dangote used this same ploy to launch his 3X cement. Go and ask your elders at home if I'm lying. They will educate you better.

First, he said they didn't sell him crude.
