Flier:Take a critical look at NNPC price model of pms from Dangote.. They got it at 0.55 cent and have used exchange rates of #1637...and also included various taxes and transport costs to land at their #950 per litre.. The question is why using such high exchange rate? Who caused devaluation of Naira ![]() Why not give concession on taxes ![]() All these are what FGN can do something about. Dangote is a private business man. Government knows how much they sold crude to him and are in the best position to know if he is overpricing. My point is...it is still the responsibility of President Tinubu and his cabinet to do something...and not Dangote |

Dangote had never monopolize any sectors in Nigeria, the cement industry has more than 10 players competing, it's the same with other sectors, sugar, flour etc. the whole Dangote monopoly cry is just a beef from lazy imposter that want Nigeria to be import dependent because of their business interest. Is the imported PMS cheaper? If yes the marketer should tell us the price of imported fuel. Why should we import what we can produce? And what stop marketers from building refineries? ElevationD: |

BlueRayDick:Lies!if a new entrant sells pms below his price, they will have d market...his only advantage is he has more products for a hugely demanded products, same with cement he controlled over 70% of d market, even if Bua lower her price his products is drop in d ocean,if people buys all Bua cements in 3hrs with no more in stock for weeks it scarcity will make dangote cement still sells at higher price. |

Faiththatworks:Why is Dangote always scared of economic competition? Why does he always have to create monopoly power for his businesses to thrive? Do you not think it'll be a great danger to you and the economy if Dangote solely controlled the oil sector, same way he did to the Cement industry? Do you not understand that market forces determine price in a competitive economy, rather than a single individual? All these are some of the questions you should ask yourself. Bro, see, Dangote go cry fire and there's nothing the government can do about it at this point because the sector is Deregulated. Dangote should man up and face the reality that he cannot continue to have his away. A Buhari would have bent the rules for him but I don't see T-bag doing that. |

Dangote we will not fight this fight for you. You’re not on the side of Nigerians rather you’re thinking about lining your pockets alone. |

Let the imports continue .and let anyone choose to buy the bad fuel or the good dangote fuel .this is the only way u can force dangote to come out with cheaper prices . |

Dangote and his team are mad. How is it your business the fuel i want to buy? I have been buying fuel for close to 10yrs now, and it hasn't destroyed my car. but because dangote started producing fuel yesterday, all of a sudden they increased price to over 1k, and want to lecture us on reason we should buy from dangote. infact thunder fire Dangote |

If imported fuel would be cheaper better and if subsidy won't be paid to Tinubu's refinery in Malta, best. |

Technology that supposes to give the people better opportunity is contributing to carnage simply because of greed, allow others do your own business,do the right thing and know peace. |

Satazaa:I have a successfull business making decent profit but i will never exploit people the way dangote is doing,Let the importation continue then allow him to fight the competitors,he is not paying landing cost or foreign taxes so why would imported be cheaper than locally made? even if its dirty let us continue buying it like that |

ElevationD:All what you type doesn't add up or show logic. If marketers import dirty fuel and sell in naira to us where will they get their dollars? Are they taking the naira we pay to USA to get newly refined PMS? How is what they import cheaper? Who told you they'll sell cheaper? It's always maximum profit and NNPC controls the flow. You just want to support continuous sabotaging of Nigerian economy by greedy few |

Did you just read the rubbish you wrote, you are accusing a man who built a Refinery of being afraid of Monopoly, the Nigerian Government couldn't repair the Local Refineries for close to 30 years yet you accuse a man who labored to build his Refinery of monopoly. These same citizens will still accuse the Nigerian Government of unemployment. U will always get the leaders you deserve,it's the worst sabotage on the Nigerian state for anyone to import a single drop of refined product when we have a Refinery that can produce all we need in Nigeria. It's an own goal for NNPCL to even give import licence after it has spent billions to repair our dead Refineries. Seriously Some Nigerians are more dumb than we think they are. God bless Nigeria quote author=Peppysco post=132080341] Why is Dangote always scared of economic competition? Why does he always have to create monopoly power for his businesses to thrive? bugu51:you read wrong. I mean we shouldn't ban importation of petrol. Let dangote compete with international price. If his price is cheaper, people will buy from him instead of imported petrol. |

Wickedfact:Airborne dieses that is why we don't live long in major city. I use to shake my head whenever I go out in Lagos. Everywhere is filled with carbon. Take a picture of the atmosphere in Lagos and same on new york you'll notice a clear difference. Poverty wants is to settle for poison |
| Re: Dangote Officials, Refiners Tackle Marketers Over Imported PMS by Wickedfact: 8:40am On Sep 20, 2024 |
Lifestone:You are comparing Dangote Refinery to Dunlop and Michelin. First of, there are substitutes to products of both companies. Dangote wants to be the only one. Now, if he's the only one, he can raise prices at his whim and caprice a and nothing anyone can do about it. Petrol is a security product and Dangote can't be the sole provider. If you give Dangote monopoly of oil production, he can change the government. All he needs to do is to raise fuel prices 2 weeks to the Presidential election, blame the increase on the increased cost of doing business and the government is in soup. Thirdly, a single bomb thrown in that refinery can destroy Nigeria's petroleum supply for at least a month. That's the security angle you haven't considered. Next time, you look at other factors instead of taking a narrow stance on the subject. |

NinjaMetahuman:Bro this people import substandard product for maximum profit. Since Dangote challenged them no one came out to debunk with evidence. Substandard product will actually be cheaper, and Dangote cannot set prices above international price, it's just business men selling low quality blended PMS at low cost. |
| Re: Dangote Officials, Refiners Tackle Marketers Over Imported PMS by Themandator: 8:43am On Sep 20, 2024 |
KaLuCh:Why is pressure to ensure that Local depot owners buys from him abi Edwin told us that if we don't buy they , Dangote will export ? Let him export and pay us for our crude in dollars and taxes in dollars since he operates from a export zone na We will use that one to fund the import . But that is not what he wants ...he knows his business practice can only be tolerated here so he is fighting government through blackmail to hand in monopoly . He won't get It .the sector has got wealthy Nigerians from everywhere into It. This is not him against Ibeto or Bua....this is him against many Ibetos and buas and the Tinubus |

bugu51:I guess you were a teenager when Dangote used this same ploy to launch his 3X cement. Go and ask your elders at home if I'm lying. They will educate you better. First, he said they didn't sell him crude. Then, he accused them of owning the refinery in Malta. Now, he's saying the fuel they sell is bad. He can cry himself to death but he won't be the sole supplier of Nigeria's petrol. Petrol is a security product and we can't keep it in the hands of one man. |
| Re: Dangote Officials, Refiners Tackle Marketers Over Imported PMS by bugu51: 8:44am On Sep 20, 2024 |
Wickedfact:It seems you don't know the meaning of monopoly. You can get licence and build your own refinery. Dangote did not stop port Harcourt refinery or Kaduna refinery so how is he a monopolist? By discouraging importation of substandard fuel product? |
| Re: Dangote Officials, Refiners Tackle Marketers Over Imported PMS by Wickedfact: 8:45am On Sep 20, 2024 |
Themandator:Don't mind him. If he tries nonsense, those IOCs will file anti-competition charges against him in foreign jurisdictions where he operates. That's when he will see that he's not in Lagos or Kano. |
| Re: Dangote Officials, Refiners Tackle Marketers Over Imported PMS by bugu51: 8:46am On Sep 20, 2024 |
Wickedfact:It's just a propaganda, there is no time in Nigeria that Dangote has been the only producer of cement. Please stop spreading this popular rumor |

bugu51:His own ago what is the density? Something that is the density of dpk Have you seen or touched the product or it is the news papers that gets induced by brand and image managers that sells opinions to you The fake and substandard pms has been in use in the last 28 years , who does because of it ..mdis COVID claim more lives in Nigeria than America because of substandard pms He should get out ! |
| Re: Dangote Officials, Refiners Tackle Marketers Over Imported PMS by Lifestone(m): 8:47am On Sep 20, 2024 |
Wickedfact:And your solution to all these is importation. We continue to export crude and import fuel. Who stopped others from building Refineries and compete? Where are government owned Refineries? Did Dangote stopped others from going into Refinery? Imported tyres killed Dunlop and Michelin with thousands of jobs lost along the value chain. You are very shortsighted or in hate of Dangote as most Nigerians ignorantly are. Where will the jobs come from when we give them away. |
| Re: Dangote Officials, Refiners Tackle Marketers Over Imported PMS by Wickedfact: 8:48am On Sep 20, 2024 |
bugu51:Did you see me mention monopoly in my post? Or, do I need to translate it into your native language before you understand? It is a lie to say the fuel being imported is substandard. He said the same thing when he was marketing his inferior cement and we all found out it was a lie. Go and see the cement being used to construct roads. How many times do you see then using Dangote cement? |
| Re: Dangote Officials, Refiners Tackle Marketers Over Imported PMS by Wickedfact: 8:52am On Sep 20, 2024 |
Lifestone:I asked a simple question which you couldn't answer. Do we starve millions of Nigerians because of one company and the few thousands be employs? How much was fuel before he started refining? How much is it now? The Dangote you are defending? How much is he selling his petrol? The problem you have is that years of hunger and deprivation has made you unable to reason properly. |
