SA just came out of the southern hemisphere winter (September is the first month of spring). So some cold still lingering in the air.

Christmas winter snow occurs in the northern hemisphere.

That's a potentially dangerous situation if nothing changes.

You guys have weather forecast stations, don't you? before the snowfall, snow trucks should have put salt on those roads and snow removing trucks
should have taken the roads to clear the way.

Ask the Canadians and the Americans have to work. They don't steal the money like we do in Africa.

“Over 13 hours, food supplies out, I don’t see us managing to drive out of here without any assistant from emergency personnel,” he said.

BORDER CLOSURES

South Africa’s Border Management Authority said three border posts with the kingdom of Lesotho has been closed as “the current conditions pose a significant danger.”

Expecting additional snowfall, there are warnings in place for various parts of the country, according to Luthando Masimini, a forecaster with the South African Weather Services. He described it as “an extreme case.”

Apart from the areas at risk, this unusual occurrence attracted people who were eager to witness the snow. Justin Nadasem Baker and his family travelled for three hours from Johannesburg to Warden, which is around 50 kilometres from Harrismith.

“It was a three-hour drive. We are excited. It has been many, many years since we saw snow,” he said.

Snow trucks did the jobs to exhaustion , the salt reserves were used to the last grain of salt. you can bet in South Africa no snow truck hit the roads and no one cares about the weather forecast, if there was any forecast at all.

In Canada and the US, the boys are at work.

You can have all the snow you want, I don't envy you. There's nothing enviable about having a frigid weather. The report mentioned that people traveled from far to see the snow. Meaning that it is an unusual event or the amount of snow experienced is more than usual. Last winter in Canada, because of the effects of El Nino, they had a warm winter. That's the impact of climatic change.

The Antarctic blizzard is getting closer and closer to Africa. Soon it will be a yearly thing and Africa may soon be covered in snow in a few decades time. Climate change is real. We may one day sleep and wake up to find snow her in naija .
