As the new academic year begins, parents are faced with a daunting task of covering back to school expenses in the midst of the harsh economic conditions and increases in the amount of school fees.

The question on everyone's mind is how much does one need to ensure their child has a successful and stress free back to school?

Your opinions are highly welcome.

I think we need to change how we do things. There are many easier ways to make your kids learn better while paying less. If school becomes too costly, look for a cheaper digital option.

For example, we run a video subscription service for kid's learning. With only ₦100/day, your child has access to a lot of learning materials. And you can stop the subscription at any time.

Just get someone to be guiding them at home. Expose them to these videos and see them do far better than those going to school.

The way these private school for kids are now expensive ehhnn, let's not even talk about other expenses

Depending on the type of school, for an high class school, with school fees and all, you'll prolly be spending close to a million.
For middle class, prolly about half the price
And for lower class, prolly about 100k or 150k shaa....

The amount you'll spend if your child attends a public school (no shades at all) cannot be the same if the child attends a high end private school.

Well we have to understand that things are not how they used to be.

Hence we should learn to cut our cloaks according to our size these days

It's not bad to plan your expenses and follow it. Not allowing people's show offs to influence you or intimidate you to overspend your budget

All these are the reasons people go into crime these days. But no one seems to talk about the underlying causes of crime.

Imagine that you live in Ikeja, and your kids attend a good school. You have to factor in rent, fees, hospital (mosquitoes +women issues), electricity, church, etc. All I'm saying is, except you are super comfortable, one is ok. If you give the child a good life and proper training, the child may give you two grankids that you may leave inheritance for.
