A country who's highest currency denomination cannot buy a liter of petrol should not be used to compare other countries

You compared NNPC pump price to Saudi Aramco's refinery price.

■ Pls convert the tax and other cost involved plus cost per litre to dollars, then get the equivalent in naira, then you can relate to dangote's data. Aramco is same as subsidises nnpc, but that doesn't work at pump prices.
Why should you have to do all of that when you can simply compare the direct costs to the consumer on each end which happens to be what the man claimed was cheaper? undecided

No be this petrol wey NNPCL dey set price for in Nigeria so? Dem supposed to at least give una IQ test before dem hire una for this una jobs. huh
petrol comes from crude oil. Which is an internationally priced product. Na you no get IQ. Or where do you expect NNPC to get crude for 10 kobo. Your backyard abi.

NNPC is in joint venture arrangement with oil companies like shell, chevron. When the oil companies give NNPC their share of production. They should sell it to Dangote at 50 kobo na

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know Dangote was referring to our petrol when it was N600.

No Sir. The prices of gasoline have to be compared against a backdrop of standard of living, level of infrastructure and affordability amongst other factors...they can't be discussed in isolation as you are suggesting... huh

Plastics are also made from crude oil sources. Petroleum jelly is equally sourced from crude oil. Are the prices of those equally internationally set? What the heck is this one attempting to argue for Pete's sake? lipsrsealed

Nigerians are paying based on a price set by NNPCL but here this one is arguing that instead the price of petrol is internationally set.. this kain mumu... na import you import am abi wetin? undecided

minimum wage in Saudi Arabia is 1.6m per month. Which is twenty time more than Nigeria minimum wage. Technically gas in Nigeria should be 20 times lesser.

Hmm...

Most of these analysis that requires conversion from one currency to the other are often misleading and negate what truly matters, which is the purchasing power of the common man, primarily, the least paid workers.

A straightforward analogy which makes more sense is how much fuel can be bought with the minimum wage?

The average minimum monthly wage in Saudi Arabia is about 4000 SAR. PMS averages at about 2.3 SAR per litre. So 4000 SAR gets you about 1700 litres of PMS.

In nigeria, with minimum wage at N70000 and pms averaging N1000 per litre, your minimum wage gets you 70 litres of pms.

Case closed. Any other calculations or conversions are just exercises in futility because the purchasing power of the masses in any country is what matters most.

Look at USA. Average minimum monthly wage is about $1200. Average pms price is $1 per litre. So minimum wage in USA gets you about 1200 litres of pms.

Meaning Nigeria minimum wage is expected around 1M to 1.2M. monthly so as to avoid 1000 to 1200 litres. that's seriously.

Price in Saudi Arabia of a liter of petrol IS NOT cheaper than the price of the same in Nigeria. The average price in Nigeria is about the same if not more, depending on the location purchased. For instance, in River's state Nigeria, the average pump price is around Naira 1300-1800 which is significantly higher than the price in Saudi Arabia. undecided

So, Dangote's claim was a total lie! And your Asiwaju is a terror to Nigerians and the economy. undecided

Where?

House rents are a function of so many factors. Location, income, status etc.

The average low rent in Riyadh, which is the capital , is about 500 SAR monthly. So 4000 SAR can pay rent for 8 months.

In Abuja, the average low rent in AMAC is about N1m per annum which translates to about N80k+ monthly. So the minimum wage in Nigeria cannot pay a one month rent.

Same thing is applicable in the US.
Re: Is Petrol 40% Cheaper In Nigeria Than In Saudi Arabia As Claimed By Dangote by AKWATGOLD1(m): 7:29pm On Sep 27, 2024
But the key thing is that PMS is expensive in Saudi than Nigeria as Dangote claims.

Or the price of fuel can some how be brought down to N58. It is neither here nor there.

The important thing is for the government to focus on improving the purchasing power of the masses.

■ Seems you are a dunce. 4000 riyal in saudi is more than enough to survive if you adopt the same living pattern in Nigeria. On feeding, a typical Nigeria family of 5 living in Saudi can not spend 500 SAR even if they are glutton, and accommodation is in the range of 700-1200 SAR for a flat. Most Nigerians earn between 6000 and 15000 SAR except student on scholarship who gets subsidized meal from government and most times a stipend less than 1000SAR at all level.
■ Nigeria run by Tinubu and his fellow thieves like Dangote is enslaved. Such assertion from African richest man tells us he is not a superman, but a thief corroborate by fellow thieves. Nigeria should go back to a state of anarchy, where we can choose our leaders ourselves, and not by sham election they organised and later generates some random values in their own favor. Next election, voters should approach coalition centres with petrol, any state Tinubu won via rigging, the returning officers and his cohort should be burn to ashes.
Finally, a response from someone who has experience of life and living in Saudi Arabia to the rescue. undecided

2. Imagine someone comparing life and living in Nigeria to that obtained in Saudi Arabia. shocked

the minimum wage of Saudi is not enough for them to survive, same way it's not enough to survive in Nigeria.

Minimum is not living wage.

Learn the difference.
You are a liar from the pit of hell. Check the link below to get the cost of food in Saudi arabia and compare with Nigeria.

https://www.amazon.sa/-/en/Rice-50-to-150-SAR/s?keywords=Rice&rh=n%3A16895377031%2Cp_36%3A17308975031&c=ts&ts_id=16895377031

Minimum wage in Saudi arabia can buy ten 50kg bags of rice while the Nigerian minimum wage can't even buy a bag of rice.

Bag of rice in Saudi is 350 SAR, Minimum wage 4000 SAR

Bag of rice in Nigeria is 90k Naira, minimum wage is 70k.

Shame on you!
