Fast forward to 2 weeks ago, I was able to save some money and decided to get a another second hand motorcycle which I'll give out for hire purchase while still driving my first bike.
But my Dad suggested I should pick up a masters programme form, at first going back to school was not part of my plans, at least not now. But he agreed to assist me in the schooling, so I went to uniport and picked a form in accounting, cos I needed the analytical and management knowledge, even though I have ruled out the possibilities of getting a job, the accounting skill will help me manage my own business and companies in the future, so I had to pick the form, since I didn't study accounting in my first degree, I had to pick PGD form and will continue my business while still acquiring knowledge, I might not create another thread for now until I finish my schooling and probably have a solid business that thrives on a system.
I know it won't be easy but it's not impossible
you never get work with the first degree. You are going for masters! Please don’t listen to your father. Their ego is why a lot of things are the same in nigeria till today , and for the people promising you job after masters! Please just laugh it off. Okada might not be an ideal work, but it is a means to an end. Not a permanent thing .

Your dad be thinking like 'instead of this boy I used to brag in the village as a brilliant graduate to be disgracing me with this Okada let me sponsor him to go and do his Master's degree'
Riding Okada in your village with their uniform will discourage some parents who hitherto used you as example from sending their kids to the university, you for remain for Abia state if you think riding Okada is part of your calling grin
Stop it.

Hello Op...

I love your determination, perseverance and daunting mindset.

After your M.sc, reach out to me... I will love to have you in my organization.

By the way, I will be travelling to portharcourt occasionally this remaining part of the year... Hopefully, we can meet in person.

Cheers and wishing you all the best!!!
Look at all the hypocrites on this thread,if he were to be residing in Lagos all you would have all been shouting tinubu, agbero,MC oluomo like it's only in Lagos you have agbero.

The agberos in the east are far worse than those in the west ,I have experienced them firsthand at upper iweka and assumpta in Owerri also at rumuokoro in PH,delta don't even go there.....abia is hell.....but it's only Lagos you all love to spit on and talk thrash about.

Good one bro. I want you to go and do your masters ooh. After my first degree I was doing my masters before my mentor(father) kivked the bucket. I later came back home and enrol in a local mechanic shop, learning the mechanic work. After then I am now riding Keke in my state to help put food on my table. God get us ...

Please can you explain the "bolded" more. Thank you!
It will be an app divided into three portions, one for restaurants and businesses, another for the okada guy to pick up and deliver, and the customer facing side for orders to be placed.

You can even have a start-up for people to order okada on an app without going to the motorparks, because of the population congestion in Nigeria, Okada business and startups are a gold mine. All of the above does not require a single IT knowledge on your part, all you need will be a good business model and process and then, colabo with an It programmer to work with you.

Our education in Nigeria is a waste I swear. There is nothing wrong with riding a bike in as much as you are meeting needs of people and making money. I know someone who built a storey building with bike riding alone while our graduates are earning 80k while spending 40k on transportation per month.

OP kudos to you and I will be following you from today to watch your progress.

I love this kind of story and the sole purpose of education is to acquire problem solving skills to succeed in the real society. Most graduates of today have zero problems solving skills and it is very sad.

Always bear that in mind.
Okada riding first, you save money and buy more okadas, then you give out on hire purchase and become a business man, next you can incorporate a business involving deliveries with okadas to restaurants and next, you can partner with an IT programmer for an Okada IT start-up that involves deliveries.

When I walk through the the streets of Lagos, I see oppoturnities for millions of Naira everywhere, myriads of problems to solve and make money.
You sound like an entrepreneur, but i doubt if you're really one,no offence.

The world will always require solution for the numerous problems it is facing. Anyone capable that can come out with effective solution will never run out of power. People will beg you to accept their money.

However, having the right resources is never easy. This is not limited to money alone. You need the right skills and talents in your company. Furthermore, managing the ego of over 100 humans while trying to achieve something meaningful is no mean feat.

Bottom-line is, stop making entrepreneurship look easy because it's definitely not.

Ok, go work for a salary like over 95% of Nigerians. Nothing is easy in this life that is where careful planning and hardwork come in.

It is easier when you remember that those places you are submitting your applications are businesses started by a man or woman with one head like yours. They didn't fall from sky.

This is the latest trend. Parents dictating on how adults should plan their lives. Who they marry etc.
An average Nigerian parent will stake money just for you to get a worthless degree and even encourage you to get a masters. Masters in what? Poverty. Even the west we copied this thrash system puts more emphasis on practicality not bundling up papers. I heard even in China they have scraped most programs because they are not relevant to today's day and time. Pass down business to children, pass down asset's. Train them also in the wealth management of the family so they don't squander it. See an Average Nigerian is ok with his SSCE. Must poor people be reminded that this educational system is meant to enslave them permanently?

You are passing through a phase of life, you have to double up..Even in School, you can still find a side hustle to support, while getting returns from your transport business.

Some lazy undergraduates find it hard to write assignments, research works, paper reviews and projects.

Learn to provide these services there and get paid handsomely as well.

Nobody loves a man more than his mom.
You are practicing a bible verse I love soo much..
Keeping the laws of your mother, and following the Instruction of your father.
Prover 1:8.

You are on the right track..As you are studying for Msc, also be on the look out for a well trained lady with good moral upbringing and a bright future for your kids.

GOOD LUCK!

You are just another reason why some parents will never send their children to the university, your action or thought means a disappointment because larger percentage of parents believe sending their children to school will help them out of poverty... okada is not the only service or sales you can offer the society or community y to make money, you have a good and brilliant idea but you lack common sense which is not common indeed
