They're using 1 year to construct 47KM of a highway that's 700KM.

The portion being constructed is just a plain topography that needs just excavation and filling.

When it gets to Akwa Ibom/Cross Rivers section that would need Cut and fill, river fillings, bridge construction and massive swamp filling, it will take them 1000 years.

Reasons they're running away from this section. They just want to construct road through the Yoruba states and abandon it.

Fraud....contract awarded without due process.this money should hav been used to decongest our roads by heavily building railway infrastructure all around the country

One of the worst federal road is the road that connects Akwaibom to Calabar. One can spend 10hrs on the road that normally will not take 1hrs 30mins. It will take less than 2% of the money they are spending on this useless highway to fix that road, at least to save lives, property damages and millions of lost productive man-hours that is doing down on that road on daily basis.

I like the idea of tolling. If Nigeria lack the bureaucracy required to tax the people directly through the salary system, indirect taxation through federal, state and local government infrastructure may be the way forward. For instance, in addition to road tolling, government could introduce Pay To Use public toilets in major cities and towns etc...

For us Lagosians, we cannot wait for this project to complete. It's going to be a huge relief. Even with the proposed tolling, it's a no trainer.

The Lekki Epe Expressway is the only road network still experiencing traffic gridlocks in Nigeria!

But our brothers (haters) do not, and will never see any good in such a massive investment called infrastructure. I have said it, anybody that is not comfortable with the road, when completed should continue with their Israelites journey through their wilderness.

Even when it's tolled, we will pay...as nothing of value is ever free.
