Hi @Ayomide98,

I taught you said there is any email address you sent your complaint to.

Thank you.
Please check well, I never quoted anywhere that I sent complaint to any mail.

The only means I know is creating a ticket on their site.

Hi, please what is the total cost after obtaining full scholarship to the point of visa.

I'd like to know so as to budget well. Cost of DS-120, visa interview fee, any other fee that will be paid before visa interview.

Cost of them all in approximate. (Dollars or naira)

Thank you all.

My school starts in January and I'm yet to schedule a Visa appointment. If anyone knows why the pre-approval request was denied please help me.

It happened to me too and I choose Lagos again too. I think it is the smart thing to do. I think so because the confirmation for visa application has not changed and it should be the criteria to choose location though I can't remember if I inputted the application number before paying for the visa fee. I hope they act on this time though.

I can confirm that the confirmation number of the DS-160 is one of the fields you will fill before you pay and I believe that the Embassy has your details starting you have chosen Lagos. I think we should be relieved that at least an action has been taken. Let's see what the new week will bring. Cheers.

You’re brilliant, that’s the case

Choice of embassy was chosen before making payment and I guess the files would have been created for one on that embassy system, it’s safe to pick Lagos again as they might do something better this time around

I just discovered it doesn't matter actually. The AVITS website has been upgraded now and it has a functional FAQ now. One can schedule an interview anywhere as long as you print the confirmation page. The email US Embassy sent me was so cryptic, no explanation was given for the rejection, they then said if the pre-approval request is accepted go and schedule interview. I sha believe this phase will pass this week.

Hi guys, please I'm caught between applying for an F1 visa in a neighbouring country (Benin Republic) because I live there partially, currently the next available interview date is after April 2025 (and my classes resumes in January). Is it possible for non-citizens of a country to apply for interview and then seek expedited date or I should simply go back to Nigeria (Abuja or Lagos) to apply and if possible seek expedited dates there since. Thanks
You live in a better country. Don’t come to Nigeria please. Find a way to enter the US from where you currently are

Ayomide98.. did you later pay for date in Abuja? I rebooked and fill for Abuja again my preapproval was approved this morning. Can only see dates in October, no November yet. Do I take both ds160 to the interview?

Hey guys,

Special greetings.

I got admission at Saint Louis University (private institution) with a global grad scholarship of 7,000 dollars and University of Texas, Dallas (public institution) with no scholarship. Course of study at both institutions is MSc Supply Chain Management. Sponsorship is company account. Application with wife and daughter.

Kindly share your opinions on the pros and cons of these schools, best choice, visa success rate etc.

Thank you.

1. If you are a Nigerian then, the best place for any individual to apply for USA visa is in his or her country of origin, as highly recommended by the US embassy.

2. Although, the US embassy are relaxing recently on the rule of Consular Shopping for F1- VISA applicants ( a situation where you apply for VISA in a 3rd country, hoping that it will favor you),
but a hard-line consular officer can still deny you base on the rule if the consular cannot find any other reason again.

3. If you can find a favourable dates in Abuja or Lagos, i will recommend that you come over to your fatherland , as Cotonou to Nigeria is only few hours drive. Consular officers , respects applicants with the spirit of nationalism, they believe that such applicants will usually come back to contribute positively towards their nation.

4. Mind you, either you apply in Cotonou, or you go and apply from Canada, the USA embassy will treat your VISA application same ways, as they are treating other Nigerians , based on the nationality on your Travel Passport. Ipso facto, F1 VISA applicant will usually receive a favourable date , based on your resumption date, especially if you are a first timer, or at worst you can use the emergency option which is usually granted.

PS: Always be proud of your nation. Nigeria is leading Egypt , as no1- highest economy in Africa, with approximately $477 billion GDP.

1. I will chose any Public (government owned) institution over the private ones every time. The USA consulars also think, that paying tuition fee in American public institutions is a big task for majority of foreign applicants (especially from developing nations) , now comparing the scenario with paying tuition fees in private institutions (which are always double or triple in studentship charges). The only exemption is when you have full fundings or you are from a very wealthy family or sponsor.

2. The best category of F1- VISA applicant whose dependency VISAS (F2) is usually considered as reasonable is a PhD application.
MSc F1-VISA applicant, who is applying straight-away with the nuclear-family is not highly recommended. *. Are you an MD/CEO who is going on full sponsored trip by your organisation? * Are your wife and daughter in danger at home ? * Are you a very wealthy business man who just wanted to create VISA opportunities for his family ? Is your daughter in the University or not in school yet? Is your wife not working ?

3. Those are the questions in the mind of the assigned VISA team, the moment you submitted your VISA application (DS-160). Also, remember that you must prove ties to Nigeria, and your best ties are those wife and kid you want to travel along with.

PS: Your planned trip is possible, yes, very few MSc applicants has done it before, however with reasonable and and highly convincing applications.

PS: If your wife does not work , and daughter not in school , then nobody have any ties, so you can all just migrate. If they have their own commitments, why do you want to take them away for the whole duration of almost 2-years of study ?

1. Don't gamble with fast and fall, if you are not very certain with your type of CARD. Payment with Card is faster , and gives room for instant continuation to booking appointment, but it is also faster to giving you headache, IF your card is declined and you re debited.

2. The best avenue to pay your MRV , in which the embassy nor the financial institution cannot deny " is via First Bank cash deposit, followed by ETF. Dont be afraid of the 24hrs waiting period. If you do everything with accuracy in following the guidelines, you won't have any issues whatsoever.

PS: AVITS charges every Card payment in USD.

@Donbigi2 Be careful of this moniker. Or people should be careful of both of you.

1. I am not here to campaign against Pay4me , but i will go against advertisement gimmick or lies in order to lure applicants into forceful or unwilling patronage.

2. Show the general public the screenshot evidence of the notification of discount pay4me is running ? If pay4me is running discount on $350 SEVIS fee, how is the organisation going to make profit, or who or what organisation is subsidizing the remaining shortages for pay4me?

3. Pay4me is a recognised upcoming app, but i do not want to talk about applicants experiences here. However, i want to state that, the number - 1 top avenue to pay SEVIS fee without a single blemish is via Western Union (Quick Pay), especially, payment from any WU outlets inside the United States (the best), Canada, UK or any other country with WU QuickPay facility.

🙏
There's no need for any misunderstanding. I never mentioned that Pay4Me gives discounts on SEVIS fees. I was simply referring to a push notification I received about discounts, on processing charges. If you use the app, I’m sure you’d have gotten it too. The discount is on processing charges for their services, including the SEVIS fee. You’re welcome to ask around or check the app yourself to verify.

Thank you 🙏🏾

1. Why not screenshot your kind of DS-160 for people to see ? Cover your private information therein.

2. DS-160 confirmation number or slip is almost the most important aspect of every VISA application, because without it , no consular officer (the embassy ) will be able to open your VISA application.

3. Even, if your DS-160 printout says do not bring it to your interview (perhaps a new development) , which i doubts, your DS-160 confirmation number must still reflect inside your VISA appointment letter.

PS: Be careful , that you are not being scammed. Screenshot your ds-160 if you are not certain. Your question itself is not really clear.
