Kabir Abdullahi of Rivers United


Abdullahi came off the bench to score twice for Rivers United to shoot past Heartland FC in a high-profile match that had former Super Eagles stars Finidi George and Emmanuel Amuneke coming face-to-face on the sidelines.


The former Kebbi United striker has announced his arrival to the top league.

With scores tied at 1-1, the big striker was introduced on the hour and eight minutes later fired the home team ahead at 2-1.

His second goal was a spectacular free kick in stoppage time.

Ahmed Musa set to return to NPFL


Super Eagles icon Ahmed Musa is on the verge of making a sensational return to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), but with a twist: he's asking Nigerian fans to help him choose his next club.

NPFL: Fearless Remo Stars continue dominance after travelling up north to defeat Kano Pillars


The match between former champions Kano Pillars and last season's runners-up delivered exciting entertainment for fans.
Remo Stars have continued with their dominance in the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season after recording their second away win of the season.

The clash between the former champions, Kano Pillars, and last season's runners-up, proved to be a mouth-watering encounter for the fans.

The Sky Blue Boys defeated Kano Pillars at home 2-0 at the Muhammed Dikko Stadium in Katsina.


Super Eagles defender, Sodiq Ismail put the visitor in front in the 26th minute after his volley went past the goalkeeper to record his second goal of the season.

On the hour mark, Franck Mawuena doubled the lead for Remo Stars to record their second away victory of the season.


Earlier on, it was a thrilling match as El-Kanemi Warriors defeated Nasarawa United in a seven-goal thriller, despite Anas Yusuf's hat-trick for the home side.

Kabir Abdullahi's late goal secured a victory for Rivers United over Lobi Stars, extending Finidi George's unbeaten run as manager of the Port Harcourt-based side.

NPFL: Remo Stars reclaim top spot, Rivers Utd extend unbeaten run


Remo Stars regained top spot in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, after a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Nasarawa United.


The Sky Blue Stars top the standings with 15 points from six games.

Sikiru Alimi, Stanley Joseph and Ismail Sodiq were on target for Remo Stars in the game.


At the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, Katsina United were held to a 0-0 draw by former champions, Rivers United, who are unbeaten in the NPFL this season after six games.

Former Super Eagles forward Daniel Amokachi’s first game in charge of Lobi Stars ended in a 1-1 draw against Niger Tornadoes.

Ossy Martins gave Lobi Stars the lead one minute after the hour mark, while Emmanuel Ayodele levelled scores for the hosts on the stroke of 90 minutes.
