This govt should be advised not to take loan from world bank. What about money saved from subsidy removal which has totals about N5b. The burden of repayment of loan will still be born by the citizens via tax. Beside, the purpose of the loan taking will not be felt as it may not reach the people concern. |

Nigerians currently don't benefit from any government funded subsidy schemes, which implies that our Revenue generation should be on the higher side especially considering the consistent rise in various taxes. Yet our government keeps taking humongous loans every two to three months with absolutely no societal development to show for it. But by all means, let us keep playing stupid politics and backing dubious politicians because of tribal and religious affiliations. Una never begin suffer! |

SocialJustice:I think they're all part of the game. How can someone borrow money from you for a project, fail to execute it, and steal the funds? Yet, the next day, they'll ask for another loan for a different project. You wouldn't ask why they misused the previous funds or demand explanations for the uncompleted project. Still, you'd provide another loan. No, there's more to it. |

Good news to the politicians. As usual the loan money will be shared. Bad News to Nigeria. The country is bleeding. Soon naira will be over 2,500 naira to the dollar. These politicians are bent on destroying Nigeria, while all their children are citizens of in UK and America. |

The senator said corruption has remained endemic in Nigeria because politicians who steal money are celebrated for doing so. He said: “Our major challenge in this country is corruption. Up till now, we have no law that can proactively or reactively address the issue of corruption in the country. If you see somebody in our system, especially in politics or government and he is not corrupt, then he is lucky to be God-fearing. Otherwise, it is only in Nigeria that you steal money and you walk freely and you are celebrated. ACJA: ‘Lack of functional monitoring Cttee impeding implementation in Kwara’ “If you come into an area like this, people would start lobbying you and prostrate before you even when they know that the money was stolen. “It is only in this country that somebody had no money yesterday or last week, but the following week he buys 10 cars; buys jets and his brothers would fly with him, his mother would fly with him, his uncle would fly with him, and they would say Allah has blessed our son.” Ndume said he had made several efforts to pass a law on unexplained wealth in Nigeria, stating that such endeavours never saw the light of the day. He said he approached a former head of state if he could sign an executive bill to that effect but he declined. “Up till now, there is no law on unexplained wealth Act in Nigeria and there is no Executive Order on it,” Ndume said. |

More poverty loading. Why the West hated Gadaffi and loves Tinubu. One took care of his people and did not need loans - the other drives his country into poverty and forces the youth to run away. |

“The World Bank has today approved three operations for a total of $1.57bn to support the Government of Nigeria in strengthening human capital through better health for women, children and adolescents and building resilience to the effects of climate change such as floods and droughts through improving dam safety and irrigation.” The international lender stated that this new financing includes $500m for addressing governance issues that constrain the delivery of education and health, $570m for the Primary Healthcare Provision Strengthening Programme and $500m for the Sustainable Power and Irrigation for Nigeria Project. They approved loans only for non-productive sectors that adds nothing to infrastructural deficit. How do you generate money from these expense to repay the loan? Now they will jump in now and offer drugs and health services through their Nigerian proxies and the loan is gone, yet we owe. This is entrapment. |

Like the world bank cares about he welfare of the country. If so, they should pay the contractors directly and it should loan. World bank is like low class call girl parading like a high class one. Nigeria and most African countries continue to fu$k with no condom. That $1.6 billion will turn into $3.2 with interest. |
