I have seen it in Igbo culture in diaspora. The mother side-lined the father and used her own family for the marriage.
The mother tried to badmouth the ex-hubby and father of the bride but I saw through her.
The hubby had health issues and marital issues began. Even she admits his was highly flying and decent in younger years.

Even while side-lining him, she used his entitlements (recognition he had from the authorities and associated privileges) to make it a big occasion. She made me fear women even more.

So don't deny anything for anyone just based on tribe. Until I saw it I thought it was impossible in Igbo culture.

Her father was disrespecting his marriage and humiliating her mother by flaunting side chicks while married to her mother.
