My first degree was Physics with Maths, and I struggled throughout the degree, even after graduating, because I wasn't clued up on Quantum Mechanics. I did a second degree in applied engineering called Avionic (Aerospace Engr) and found that much easier due to my physics degree background.

Physic is very hard to understand in a country like Nigeria, which has deplorable secondary school educational facilities. There is a reason why all Nigerian technology is imported.

nobody buy first class anywhere. First class is not sold in any institution. No lecturers will sell first class for you

I disagree. Even if the course is useless in Nigeria, it can get you graduate trainee, entry level, and even scholarships abroad. I will take first-class in yoruba than third class in Engineering

Hello guys I need help , so I did my bachelor degree in accounting at uniport and got 2.98 (second class lower ) . I was told to do my pgd (since my score is low 2.98) but someone just told me I could do my masters straight ,and not worry about my pgd ?is this true ? Also I’ll be applying for ajuru university.

Let's agree to disagree. A third class in Engineering or any STEM field trumps 1st class in many courses that are not even as limited as Yoruba. There will be few exceptions just as we have primary school certs or even illiterates who have achieved more than graduates.

You can proceed very well in life without scholarship and you can get entry level jobs with a third class degree. For higher degrees, reach out to individual colleges and they will ask for evaluation of your scores then advise you accordingly on extra credits needed at undergraduate level to proceed or place you on a graduate certificate course prior to a masters level program. Also, a graduate of engineering even with a pass is prepared for tons of tech certification opportunities to get him started, and many of them have successfully done this. A graduate with lower class of degree simply means he passed his university courses with low grades or mostly after 2nd attempt with carry overs, it does not change the fact that he has completed university education in Engineering or any course

third class degree in engineering can't even get you admission in Nigeria for MS. You will have to do PGD just like HND holders before proceeding to do MS. Third class degree can't get you any graduate trainee or entry level jobs. You can point at any job vacancy that the minimum requirements was third class. Third class can't get you admission in US, Canada, UK, Australia for MS program.

A first class in even HAUSA language as a course can land you full funding MS or PhD offer in US, Canada, UK, Australia and other developed countries. It can get you automatic employment as a Graduate teaching assistant in your school. It can get you graduate trainee and entry level jobs. It can open lots of doors. I will forever accept first class in any course than a third class in engineering or any good course to you. God forbid

Thank you I sent a mail to the school and got a reply , they encouraged me to do the pgd . Because I won’t be able to do masters .

You simply have no clue what you are talking about. The guy with a third class in Engineering, that is willing to explore his options, will catch up and leave you behind with all your funding/graduate trainee in Yoruba in no time. The past HOD of Mechanical Engineering at Covenant University, Professor Akin Loto, graduated with a 3rd class... he proudly shared his experience. Just one of numerous examples .

Who ever told you those working in corporate organisation don't have businesses to their names? Who told you Taiwo as a business man is better and more successful than Kehinde working in a corporate organisation? You can run a business while someone working in a corporate organisation earn more than you. It can also be vice versa. The most important thing is fulfilment. Being fulfilled either as a corporate worker or a business owner.

I only want to educate you with your two degrees that being a business owner doesn't make you more successful and fulfilled than someone working in corporate organisation. Being a business owner doesn't make you richer than someone working in corporate organisation. Business get level, corporate organisation get size.
