Bola4boy:Your car has been abused electrically, get a competent rewire to look at it. Also get another radiator for your car that comes with the space for a secondary ECT and get it connected. |
| Re: The HONDA Club by jceesquare(m): 6:44pm On Oct 04, 2024 |
Bola4boy:Change your downstream oxygen sensor and get the ECT 2 connected. The downstream oxygen sensor for your car does more than just monitoring the oxygen level in the exhaust. |

jceesquare:Stop showing me pics of abused accords to prove that a vehicle that has its fans still running via the brainbox isn't being controlled by an ect sensor. Why not show me factory wiring diagrams to prove your point? Besides, the MAF sensor is another matter because it controls something else entirely in different years of the accord so no need bringing such into this discussion. |

Bola4boy:Abeg how do you guys measure this fuel consumption and MPG whatever?? I'm terrible at mathematics, maybe that's where my problem is even coming from. Because the last time I checked, you have to calculate Trip A and B whatever whatever, omo na so I just run oo. I use my weekly usage to calculate my fuel consumption now🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 |
| Re: The HONDA Club by jceesquare(m): 6:54pm On Oct 04, 2024 |
Conner44:And the Live data that does not have provision and not showing the ECT 2 sensor is also sign of abuse? All 3 cars I posted have zero codes on them. Says alot for an abused car. |

Cryomancer:divide the lkilometer you traveled by liters of petrol you bought. If your tank dey half Guage. Buy 20liters for instance and drive the car till it gets to exactly half Guage. Divide the kilometers covered by 20 liters you bought . So from there, you know the consumption per liter |

Bola4boy:I think you simplified it with this explanation of yours. I'll try it out and see what I get. Thanks |
| Re: The HONDA Club by jceesquare(m): 6:35am On Oct 05, 2024 |
Cryomancer:Use this link. https://www.omnicalculator.com/everyday-life/mpg Put the liter of fuel bought and the distance you covered before the fuel got to the level it was before refill. The site will help calculate your fuel economy with the information you provided. |
| Re: The HONDA Club by Macmilla(m): 6:45am On Oct 05, 2024 |
jceesquare:This is exactly what I would advise. |
| Re: The HONDA Club by Macmilla(m): 7:16am On Oct 05, 2024 |
jceesquare:Please can you tell us what else the secondary (downstream) HO2 sensor does. Evidence will be appreciated. In all the research I've done on Honda, all evidence point to the sec HO2 sensor being purely for emissions control. It monitors the efficiency of the catalytic converter and nothing more. The primary (upstream) HO2 sensor, more appropriately called Air fuel ratio sensor, is what actually monitors and adjust air-fuel mixture in the engine. Please if you have a contrary opinion, give us your source, so we see for ourselves. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIF8P2J1CeE?t=435&si=Ym7VdUuwjQBCumIp |

jceesquare:Bros be calming down. All 7the gen accord with v6 engine do not have any sensor on the radiator. Both ECtlT sensor 1 and 2 are on the engine. (Picture 1) All 7the gen accord with i4 engine has either Fan switch (04-05) or ECT sensor 2 (05-06) on the radiator. (Picture 2) If your i4 7th gen has nothing on the radiator, then it is either Honda is hiding something or you need to know your car better. If your car is actually a i4 with nothing on the radiator, then educate us (with evidence) on how the car is controlling the fan.

Thanks for this thread. For me I use the EOD and sometimes ago when I fuel my car, I get the PO420 "Catalytic Converter below threshold bank 2" I have no catalyst. So does it mean I have to get the Chinese one or change oxygen sensor. My fuel economy not too good. Though no CEL anymore. Cryomancer: |
| Re: The HONDA Club by jceesquare(m): 9:13am On Oct 05, 2024 |
Macmilla:My initial message was that not all 7th gen Accord has a switch or whatever you want to call it on the radiator, but guys countered it until I sent pictorial evidence and now the narrative is changing. The second Accord without the ECT 2 sensor is my personal car and it has zero codes on it. I've checked the data stream over and again with my scanner and other colleagues scanner and there is nothing like ECT 2 reading showing on it. Abi you want make I show you video of the data stream? Modified: Just read your message again and saw what you meant by a radiator switch and ECT 2 sensor. |
| Re: The HONDA Club by jceesquare(m): 9:16am On Oct 05, 2024 |
Macmilla:From experience working on 7th gen Accord (especially the ones without MAF) that downstream oxygen sensor does more than emission job and also contributes in the fuel trim. Do you want video evidence for this as well? |
| Re: The HONDA Club by Conner44: 9:46am On Oct 05, 2024 |
Macmilla:Thanks for this 👍🏾 |
| Re: The HONDA Club by Conner44: 9:47am On Oct 05, 2024 |
jceesquare:So does your own vehicle STILL NOT have an ect sensor? I think it's a 4cyl accord right? Plus there's a reason I asked you for a factory wiring diagram as proof before, if you do not have one I suggest you try to source it as it seems you work on these type cars frequently 👌 the 4cyl eod ect2 sensor does not throw a code once it's faulty on these kinds of cars. |
| Re: The HONDA Club by jceesquare(m): 10:04am On Oct 05, 2024 |
Conner44:My own does not have an ECT 2 sensor. This has always been my argument. All cars (at least modern cars) comes with at least 1 ECT sensor, but not all cars have a secondary ECT sensor and my Accord is one of them. So back to my statement. Not all 7th gen Accord has an ECT 2 sensor on the radiator. |
| Re: The HONDA Club by jceesquare(m): 10:05am On Oct 05, 2024 |
Conner44:This is false. |
| Re: The HONDA Club by Conner44: 10:08am On Oct 05, 2024 |
jceesquare:Okay good. Let me rephrase the question Macmilla asked you before . . . So, does your vehicle have its thermostat intact? If yes pray tell us how your brainbox is able to control your cooling fans without an ect 2 sensor attached to your radiator I am here to learn something new from you today ![]() |
| Re: The HONDA Club by Conner44: 10:09am On Oct 05, 2024 |
jceesquare:Okay. I'm learning from you today ![]() |
| Re: The HONDA Club by jceesquare(m): 10:11am On Oct 05, 2024 |
Conner44:1st read his post again like I did and read mine then tell me if you now understand what a fan switch is and what an ECT 2 sensor is and what they do. Then I'll explain better what you seek for |
| Re: The HONDA Club by jceesquare(m): 10:13am On Oct 05, 2024 |
Conner44:You can simply quote his message before you twist it |
| Re: The HONDA Club by Conner44: 10:13am On Oct 05, 2024 |
jceesquare:Okay. I have reread the posts. Can you tell me the location of the Fan Switch on your own eod? |
| Re: The HONDA Club by jceesquare(m): 10:24am On Oct 05, 2024 |
Conner44:This was my initial quote. I made emphasis on the ECT 2 sensor. jceesquare:This was Macmillan response to my quote Macmilla:Then this is your cheeky response. Conner44:My stand has always been that not all 7th gen Accord has an ECT 2 sensor. It's either you have compression issues, or you just want to act ignorantly. |
| Re: The HONDA Club by Conner44: 10:25am On Oct 05, 2024 |
jceesquare:Plus for your updated information ![]() The ECT 2 SENSOR and FAN SWITCH are one and the same part. Please keep this in mind as our discussion progresses 👍🏾 I'm still waiting for the location of your own fan switch. |
| Re: The HONDA Club by jceesquare(m): 10:27am On Oct 05, 2024 |
Conner44:Okay, you're right and I'm wrong. Does this make you feel better? At least I know what I know and see on my live data. If you choose to live out this discussion in ignorance then it's fine. |
| Re: The HONDA Club by Conner44: 10:27am On Oct 05, 2024 |
jceesquare:Hahaha 😆 bros don provoke. 🤣 say I get compression issues lol Jceesquare, does your vehicle have it's thermostat intact? Do your cooling fans work [b] via its brainbox? Simple question you dey fire me bullet |
| Re: The HONDA Club by Macmilla(m): 10:27am On Oct 05, 2024 |
jceesquare:Please do well to show us the video where it was explained. I want to learn. |
| Re: The HONDA Club by Conner44: 10:29am On Oct 05, 2024 |
jceesquare:Okay good. We are making progress. At least you've learned that the ect2 sensor and the fan switch are one and the same part and have the exact same functionality this morning 👍🏾 |
| Re: The HONDA Club by Conner44: 10:29am On Oct 05, 2024 |
Macmilla:Exactly 💯 we are all learning here ![]() |

Macmilla:I will do a video and send later. Macmillan and conner44, this is a video I made just now showing that the ECU takes fuel trim reading off the secondary oxygen sensor (B1, S2) on the 4 cylinder 7th gen Accord without the MAF sensor. https://youtube.com/shorts/KfUh1KYCbwo?si=nTGMbCe1TleMjx16 |
